My concern With all these weight loss drugs is that really we don’t know the long term impact of them. They were for diabetes so they replace the insulin in the body. But what happens if you take this for a couple of years and then stop? Will a person without diabetes start normal insulin production again? Or will you be permanently dependant on the drug.
There are some links to thyroid cancer as well, that’s pretty scary itself, as well as the other side effects (dizziness, nausea, etc)

I know in Liverpool, there`s loads of people getting these jabs from people who are in the beauty game and aren`t health care professionals, running it as a side hustle along with all the botox and filler jobs they do.

My missus works with a couple of girls, who seem to use it as an alternative to eating properly and exercising.

Google the group GLP1 this drug comes from the back of a lizard's tongue it's very expensive & has only been around for 5 years or so as a diabetic - boy it works it holds any food you eat in your stomach for long periods - not natural - 50 % of humans cannot tolerate this group of drugs - I was on the lowest dose 0.25mg once per week for 6 weeks - a top diabetic nurse administered it singing its glory as I stated they all have different brand names but belong to the GLP1 group -

After 6 weeks I was being sick & got chronic craps that turned into a large loss of blood - I went to my GP - she examined me & straight away stated it may be the GLP1 drug, but she could take no chances & telephoned a top specialist I was rushed in 2 weeks later on my birthday having to take that awful clearing out medicine for 24 hours - I was down in the operating theatre for over 2 hours as they sent camera both ways up, & down not painful but very unpleasant - I had this procedure before = I was all clear, but this time 13 biopsies that took over 5 weeks to get the results for they removed one polyp in my stomach - in which the specialist stated it would not give me the symptoms I was having it was a medicine I was taking ...... also I now have Barrett syndrome in my food pipe ....

Long-term GLP-1 activation is associated with increased levels of calcitonin and tumour formation in rats and mice-

I was fearing the worst, that I may have cancer - I went back to see the top diabetic nurse & threw the drug at her & had a rant to her over the trauma she had given me by not reading my medical notes { as I had stomach problems in the past burst duodenal ulcer etc}the local nurse in the GP clinic went red & stated only 50% could tolerate this drug -

I went back on to insulin a natural body substance to control diabetes under a different Diabetic specialist nurse - The other one had been promoted ....

My bowels took ages to settle down ... plus the drug of all GLP1 types have now been purchased by the rich as you can lose 6 stone with ease as IMO it's not natural & so easy to lower your blood sugars etc - but it works for 50 % without any side effects ....

I now use insulin & my diabetes is fine no side effects - they gave me a Libra 2 computer machine out of shame - a very expensive device, so I can control my blood sugars easily ....

My preference is this machine than GLP1 jabs after the ordeal I had - it helps you to eat the correct food & not poison you !

Even in the long term that GLP1 will IMO have cancerous results in some people who take it IMO -

It's not been on the market long enough ..... plus any quick fix that holds food in your stomach deters your appetite is far from natural IMO !

I got fat, so I'm taking weight loss drugs. I'm losing loads of weight and can now exercise again.

Anybody else done these, and what do you think about them. Personally, I think that when/if they are available in tablet form the world will change and it will be a huge benefit to society.

There's loads of stuff that this will effect, but not all positively..... thoughts?
Don't bother 50% side effects & in my case hospital .... read my post & experience of GLP1

Lethal mate, your spot on ....

I know 2 girls on it and weight has dropped off them. Probably about 5 stone in a year. I get what you’re saying and I think in most circumstances you’re right however I know one of the girls has a thyroid problem, has been on a diet for basically the last 15 years but not been able to lose enough weight to be able to get into a solid exercise regime and suffered sever depression. The girl wants to go through IVF but can’t till her BMI is below a certain level and is in her mid 30’s so time is running out.

You’ll always be healthier by building fitness but sometimes the priority is losing weight so the weight doesn’t kill you. Some people have injuries that make the exercise difficult.

It’s been in development for years and been through enough testing to deem it safe for use, I’m sure length of time on it etc has been considered. All because we can still wash our clothes in a river doesn’t mean we shouldn’t use a washing machine.

I need to lose weight but it’s not something I’d consider personally. I think it’s about personal choice and circumstance though isn’t it. If people want to use it, it works and it’s safe for them I’ll never yuk another man’s yum
The first cancer side with this drug GLP1 is the thyroid & the Pancreas ..... so that adds up IMO

Damn Joe, that's no good. I've a pal of over 3 decades that has Barret's Mucosa, he's stage three and there's nothing to be done but keep him out of as much suffering as possible. The what comes next is the fear for him (and us that know and care for him), because even though there is no definitive map, there is something coming. I raise this next part not as a pish take, he's lost ~ 2.5 stone in about 3-4 months. He's a shade over 8st now. It's rough.
Hope you are free n clear of any of the bad that's obviously swirling round your mind. We take our health for granted, it's only when we lose something or things that we focus and start to strive towards not losing anything else. Keep on the good side of good :)

My issue with most medication is it solves one issue (weight loss in your case) but what is it doing to your other internal organs of your body?

I think not taking them for too long is the key, just to get you on the right path but then go to natural ways like exercise and diet.
Its a quick fix but it could have long term issues elsewhere in your body.

The Labour Party are promoting this drug to get the obese back to work ... for 12 months - what happens when they stop using it after 12 months & the costs??
On a politics slant, it's media and financial pressure, it's a bit rich if someone fed by benefit has piled weight on so significantly to keep them out of the workplace. This ignores archives of other reasons I acknowledge. It's about perception. Human beings retreat into themselves for countless reasons, withdrawing. It is a part of the path tread along the journey of depression. To be flippant for a moment, I'm simply glad it's not EST, as I can very easily imagine certain twits* in a previous government being all to keen to be the administrator thereof.
There was a doctor of sorts that dreamed up forced ice pick lobotomies to treat mental illness/dysfunction - it's a chapter of history I wish to today I didn't know about - where there is despair, there is a quack or similar with snake oil to fix the issue. The depths of human depravity some are prepared to debase themselves to, in the pursuit of a dollar, seemingly knows no bounds.
I take a new auto immune medication to back off a specific condition related to arthritis (others take it for some associated/similar issue/s), so far so good, it's a new medicine, I'm inside the first 5k country wide to get it, blood tests 4 times a year, and a 6 monthly chest x-ray. (Because I'm 30% more likely to develop lung cancer). I don't smoke, I never have. Thankfully.

We all take our health for granted. And time waits for no one.

Think they are an excellent tool for weight loss. I have personal experience and the person I know has lost 4st since September. Promotes healthy eating as the suppression and lack of food noise prevents you from craving unhealthy food and what food you do eat to hit your macros is invariably protein rich and healthier choices. Clearly eating this way over a long period encourages good habits and relationships with food to form so when people come off the injections then they are in a whole better place. It’s a thumbs up from me 👍
