Martinez would be free, Whelan has said he would release him if Martinez asked to leave so that makes him favourite imo, all the other external candiates apart from Pereira would require compo. There's a vid of Whelan giving an interview of below, if you watch it and read between the lines, it's pretty obvious we've offered Martinez the job or he's been offered a job somewhere else and Martinez is thinking it over. This is exactly what he did with the ****e and Villa before turning them down

He said he wants compo. 12 month left on his contract.

Dave wheelan " Roberto is one of the top 6 managers in the world"
"Oh and I broke my leg at wembley"

He sooooo overates Roberto

I think it's nailed on he will be announced our manager tomorrow.

I can't see it being anyone other than Pereira. Same manager (Hentoray) as Mirallas, did a good and correct job there.

Pereira is also free, and just won a title, whereas Martinez just relegated Wigan. Only let-off for Vitor would be the funds. Or the lack of them.

By the way, Hentoray is also the manager of Romelu Lukaku. And seeing as he wanted to go to a bigger team than West Brom... Lukaku just said on a Flemish TVshow that he couldn't go to Tottenham, Chelsea don't allow him to go there. So it's Everton, Swansea (European matches) or another country.

There's two others there who he hasn't ruled out...keep worrying. In fact, the only way DAVIDMOYES could have known for sure at that point it wasn't to be Stubbs is because he knew who it was...and Kenwright and Elstone had only interviewed the internal *candidates* at that point. It's Weir....nothing more certain.

lol, he knew it wasn't Stubbs so therefore it automatically equates to being Weir - get a grip Dave ffs.

He knew it's not Stubbs - maybe he knew that because he knew all of the internals didn't have a hope in hell?

It's conjecture nothing more, you've jumped to your own conclusion & want to commence a public stoning off the back of your imagination.

Didn't Porto have a smaller budget than us this/last season?

I suppose it had escaped our attention that it is entirely normal for internal candidates to put themselves forward for any job. Quite how their CVs match up to experienced managers such as Martinez or Pereira is anyone's guess especially as - excepting Round - they haven't got the slightest experience of day to day management at that level. It would take a monumental reference and interview to be preferred (by any normal decision maker - we ARE talking Kenwright here remember) to a CL level manager or an FA Cup winner and PL level manager.
