If Pereira is so good, why don't porto want him and why are the fans not keen on him where Martinez took wigan down and is still loved. But I do love the record of only being beaten once in the league tho

The way I read it is he lacks the charisma of previous managers, he was an very average footballer and they got knocked out of Europe by Malaga. As fickle as Everton fans I suppose. I also believe its half and half not all the porto fans.

Because Wigan is a small time club with small time fans. Porto fans have high expectation. They wanna get great results in CL. I really don't want Martinez who hasn't proved anything.

Right, sounds like Spoilt brats, they prefer AVB but haven't porto sold their best players in the Hulk and Falco under VP.

Sounds like some of them are. I think they want the knee slides of Mourinho or the fancy crouches of AVB as well as winning titles. I'll just take the titles.

Am I right in thinking that Porto would have to release a statement saying he is leaving before we can announce anything.

Similar to what we did with Moyes. Man UTD said nothing until we announced he was going.

I think Porto will announce he's either staying or leaving next week. The chairman in an interview said last night that his future is undecided but Portugease Journalists are saying a decision will be made on Monday.

quite a few quid has gone on Lennon in his home town
Im only worried about this one due to the fact its look like we haven't approach anyone yet, plus his season hadn't finish due to a cup final. Plus he Scottish like the last managers in Walter and Moyes.

I do not for one minute think people hate him, I just think common sense prevails

How can any one really accept that appointing a manager with no real credentials other than managing U21s ( not very well) to a position that is absolutely critical to a top 6 club in terms of their position where they are now.

WE ARE AT A CROSSROADS in terms of the history of everton with the new TV structure about to be implemented. If we get this wrong now our closest rivals can leave us for dead as there is so much at stake

To say he is OK because he knows the club is pathetic,,, shearer - Newcastle / Dogleish - Liverpool are most recent examples

I am all for developing talent within and maintaining the history and values of EFC but this job is too big for them now...

Lets get a proven talent, with good football techniques, good scouting netowrk and merge that with the passion of talent within the club, and this for me is a winning formula that will eventually allow further progression of the likes of Neville / Stubbs / Weir / Ferguson

I will gladly applaud either Neville. Stubbs / Weir or Ferguson with all my heart when they stand alongside our new manager and one day I ope they will be a manager and show the true values of EFC

Excellent post mate!

This is a critical decision for Everton, it would be suicide to appoint anything other than the most advanced and affordable candidate.

Which is Pereira, not someone who is happy to be patronised as he excuses our latest defeat by saying we played excellent football.

This Pereira comes with a very good CV, GET HIM IN!

Well ive just seen on another forum someone posting tweets from LCAB to Fourth Official about the likes of Pereira and Martinez, and LCAB said to FO that we could of appointed Pereira monday and it was as good as done the deal, but we didnt, and that he's hearing its still Martinez we want.

I know some take LCAB's words as gospel and some dont, but believe of that what you will.

I do think Kenwright as a liking for Martinez and is interested in Pereira and IF we believe stories in the Portuguese press and twitter, Pereira was in England monday to talk to 2 top half teams in the premier league, so who's to say he didnt talk to Kenwright and sell himself and make it be known he's interested in the job, but Kenwright not being 100% sure on just going on and appointing him, told him he wanted to talk to another candidate first before weighing up his options on which one to pick?!.

IF Kenwright is in 2 minds about either of Pereira or Martinez, then he as every right to hear the 2 of them out about there plans and ambitions for our club before making his next move. He as to get this right.

David The Toffee‏ @lcabbabeh
@FourthOfficial_ Cda appointed Vitor on Mon btw . Done deal .They never tho <<< Wel see Kid

David The Toffee‏ @lcabbabeh
@FourthOfficial_ Id LIKE Her tbh but Im STILL hearing Martinez an of course now Vitor . Id say HES the outsider just by their havin waited

He's a funny old character, when referring to "her", he means Pereira's missus, she's fit as fcuk apparently?!.

We probably haven't interviewd Martinez yet so that's probably why.

Lennon is Irish mate

but a looker non the less

The thing I'm most excited about with regards to Vitor, if we get him, which I don't think we will, is the signings he could make. Really, really hope it comes off, don't think it will though.

so he's bringing his own transfer budget aswell?

I wish i shared this faith, but its Everton we are talking about. I would love to see Pereira but just sadly cant see it happening and we will end up appointing Martinez.

Plus i have 5 quid on him at 16/1, and bets like this never come off for me.

...it sounds like you are crying this bet in, but I just hope you lose for the sake of EFC. I think there is so much hype about this guy and little subsistance. I am really wary that he was a bit of a dud before he was given the Porto hotseat. I hope Bill stands firm and holds out for Martinez - much less of a risk than a fancy dan with a fit missus.
