The LEFT HIS JOB DUE TO STRESS bit kind of rings alarm bells. That and him being aged 54. Martinez is 39 & Pereira 44.

Also, to say he 'led Schalke to the CL semis' is a bit misleading. Technically he did, but he took charge of them on March 21st, 2011, and he was only actually in charge of their quarter finals vs Inter Milan before the semis. Admittedly he won both games vs Inter.

Wasn't at Schalke very long though, and this on the UEFA.com site doesn't sound very good either:

Rangnick steps aside at Schalke

Ralf Rangnick has stepped down as coach of FC Schalke 04 with immediate effect for health reasons, saying: "After careful consideration I came to the conclusion that I need a break."

Ralf Rangnick has stepped down as coach of FC Schalke 04 with immediate effect for health reasons.

The 53-year-old, who was in his second spell at Schalke, said he currently does not have "the necessary energy to be successful and to develop the team and the club". He added: "Making this decision was incredibly tough for me, but after long and careful consideration I came to the conclusion that I need a break.

"I am making this move for the good of the team and hope they are as successful as possible for the rest of the season." Assistant Seppo Eichkorn will take caretaker charge for Saturday's Bundesliga home match against SC Freiburg, with Maccabi Haifa FC the next to visit Gelsenkirchen next Thursday in UEFA Europa League Group J.

Exhausted after 6 months in a job, only 4 of which were actually during a season?
