Nothing in recent years makes me think otherwise. Got Schalke team well prepared by Felix Magath and had some serious money backing in Hoffenheim, which club quickly got very hated in Germany because of the way they bought their success.

Serious money for Germany? Because i don't think he was backed to the hilt by Hopp. A quick look on Transfermarkt seems to suggest a net spend of around £23m over the 5 years, give or take a few million. Offset by the massive sales of Gustavo and Eduardo of course!

There are some questionable transfers, especially surrounding South American players, but also some very good signings too.

Luis Gustavo, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Carlos Eduardo a particular 3 to mention, but then there were Zuculini and Wellington to counter those.

As for the hatred for Hoffenheim, that's just natural, the same way Man City were hated here for spending their way to the title. Wouldn't have any baring on his appointment i'd think :)

Worth what it is worth, for fans of the F5, the Dragon patient was left in a post this comment: "Vitor Pereira is no longer coach of FC PORTO! Wait for the covers of newspapers north tomorrow (JN and OJOGO). Alves " In this blog, the author will have to approve the comment is visible right?

Rangnick will be off with stress again after watching Everton for 3 months.

Frustration.

On another note, can I watch sky sports news on my phone somehow?

With this news, Peg-leg Whelan's compo has halved

Doesn't hurt salary negotiations either

There are far more cheaper options than Martinez, that Bill could have chosen.
Plus Whelan can hawk Martinez around a lot of clubs who will be willing to pay the said compo.
Always a conspiracy theory with you bunions.

It's going to be Bob, the other 2 are a smokescreen so that the process looks exhaustive.

Which is the right decision IMO. Mostly becuase he knows the PL and what he is up against whereas the others don't.

Roberto Martínez is set for a second round of talks with Bill Kenwright on Friday as the Everton chairman closes in on appointing a successor to David Moyes.

Kenwright claimed there was no clear favourite for the Everton job before meeting the Wigan Athletic manager on Wednesday and has met other candidates in recent days. Porto's title-winning coach, Vitor Pereira, was among them and remains in contention, though Martínez will be the first to be interviewed twice by the Everton chairman.

The Wigan manager was not offered the job of replacing Moyes during Wednesday's initial meeting but could be installed by early next week provided the latest negotiations go well. Unlike the past two summers, when he was approached by Aston Villa and Liverpool, the 39-year-old informed the Wigan chairman, Dave Whelan, that he wished to leave the DW Stadium prior to holding talks with the Goodison Park club. Everton are also the only club given permission to approach Martínez so far.

Phil Neville, David Weir and Alan Stubbs have all been interviewed by Kenwright since Moyes agreed to join Manchester United and the Everton chairman has said he will reconsider all options before making his final decision.
