Martinez will do well at Everton, he is highly respected in football circles people closer to the game always have a good appreciation of his work and I don't mean DW.

He had his hands tied as soon as he took over at Wigan once he predecessors left DW tightened the purse strings even more every season was a constant restraint on wages and signings

When he said he did not feel capable of bringing Wigan back up, it meant that with the restraints he felt it was impossible (to get them back up with one hand tied financially) not over his own ability, i.e. if they had a QPR sugar daddy with lesser restraints I don't think he would have made that comment or maybe had left Wigan

If he is our manager, I'll back him to do a good job to be honest. VP I don't know anything about so surely the risk is similar?
