Moyes to Sunderland

I hate how United fans act like they are the ultimate authority on Moyesy when he was only there for a year and spent ten with us. Can guarantee we can offer better insight him than the Mancs

He sees himself in the Rafael mode.

If I was a Sunderland fan I would be worried :(
Interesting the contrast between the two. Last year it was "surely Rafael won't manage a club in the championship, too good for that" etc...with Rafael ultimately agreeing to stay...to Moyes practically begging to manage a club in the championship. If he isn't sacked before the start of next season I predict Sunderland will be midtable at Christmas (obviously playing horrible football) and he will be gone, which will surely mean the end of any more PL management for him.

He's got nowhere else to go - resigning would mean giving up several million per year - and for someone with his track record there are no guarantees of any future work.

He won't see out the final three years of his contract but he'll be banking on a pay off before he does leave.

It still rankled me he was allowed to run his Everton contract down to make himself available in a free - no way would he allow a player to do that - double standards and shows how weak Bill and his Board were at the time. Moyes gets no sympathy from me.

I dunno, 10 months to get the gist of what a winner he is seems time enough.

Couple of comments that unfortunately didn't appear on the vid:

After their first defeat (and in response to some criticism) he said "I'm sure there will be plenty more". Winner.

About their city rivals, Davie Moyes, manager of four time European champions and 20 time English champions Manchester United, said, "we must aspire to be at the standard of Man City". Winner.

The bloke drains the life out of me. 44 years ago today we won the cup with a team that had fight and passion.

Unless he gets a decent start we will go down again. Can already here him saying there are no easy games in the championship and it's not his fault when Burton stick 4 in.

He's taking the piss mate. I see it this way: by saying he's wanted by the board he's trying to goad Sunderland supporters to protest against him so that Short has to pay him up.

There's no way he wants to be with you next season.

I only ever miss home matches if I'm ill or away from the area. I've never ever just thought I can't be bothered and not going as that's not what you do.

However, the Swansea game might be the first time I just refuse to go. Not sure if I can face it. Thats moyes

I dont know how he's not been chased out of that club. I know expectations were low, but if a manager relegates a club and was overseeing it for a whole season there is only one course of action - you bin them.

I'm sure Moyes was hoping that would happen too. He has no stomach for a Championship campaign. He'll be hoping he can get released from Sunderland and lay low for a season and then sneak back in the PL with a desperate outfit.

I can't see him succeeding In the championship. It's a totally different arena for him. Sunderland will be one if the bug scalps in that league next season and they should be favourites in most of their matches.
Moyes won't be able to motivate his side to do that, he's good (or was once upon a time) at making his side's difficult to beat and creating a siege mentality that won't cut the mustard next year. I expect him to be sacked by Dec. What comes next for Moyes after Sunderland? Probably the Scotland job, as becoming international boss is apparently what crap managers do now.
