Peter Johnson has to take some responsibility. We were a big 4 side at the dawn of a new premier league era and ended up as relegation contenders with John Spencer and Mark Hughes playing upfront.
Kenwright normalised the position. Moshiri showed us that we can throw as much s
Peter Johnson failed , but under his tenure we built a new stand and won the FA cup.
He didn’t have the money and left.
Kenwright didn’t have the money but clung on.
Apart from the charity which is something to be proud , Kenwright has achieved nothing in terms of sporting success.
And sporting success and its pursuit is what Everton should be all about, they certainly were before Kenwright rocked up.
As I mentioned earlier he resembles the role Theo Kelly as manager played in our eventual demise, both lacked a true vision of the game and both displayed a very parochial view of the club.

Whilst I'd be sure that MSP would know what they're getting into, it would be interesting to see whom their appointees to the board would be and what the dynamic is in relation to the current board. I assume these would be additional members.

On the one hand, they are not going to be dictating everything but it's hard to see Kenwright and DBB just continuing as if nothing happened.

We need them out asap, and for Moshiri to appoint a new Chairman and CEO to work alongside the MSP directors.

I think MSP will know exactly what they’re doing. Kenwright and DBB will be out and people who know how to run a sports business successfully will be in. This means in the medium to longer term we’ll be in a much healthier position, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow.

When business people come in you may be surprised to know that making money and not winning is the main agenda.
My concern is that we are now sold as mid table protential m proposition, that can milk the premier league money each season without needing the take the risk to push for greater things.
To be honest football has died for a lot over the years.
The direction of travel is depressing

Your first line is spot on, Stan Kroenke at Arsenal is a great example, because the club was making money it was being run correct and everything was fine, but not for the fans. Coming 4th all the time became a bit of a joke

Our target is the next 5 years should be to survive and then transition to being a Brighton on steroids. We should also be the go to club for young talent in the north west as we should be able to offer a pathway the RS and the Manc clubs can’t

When have we been anything different over the last 30 years?

Whoever comes in has to understand that the last 30 years are not where we have been historically as a club, and our target direction of travel should be to restore those former glories. I am not expecting us to build a dynasty as we really won’t be able to compete, but the occasional trophy and top 10 finishes to begin with followed by regular European football and then upwards.

I don’t mind owners trying to make a profit but not at the expense of success. The concern I have is that the footballing success end game for any new owner maybe to get us just top half because that’s what they think we want and will tolerate , but obviously we want more than that.

Well I did ask that bearded Scotsman insider chap (B.S. ..hello) if there were any plans to have us competing again and … crickets. Don’t think he’s been on since lol.

So … yeah.

I think this is totally in the realm of possibility. The portfolio is interesting. On one hand you see fingerprints of a competent footballing structure. Their assets in clubs have a nice pyramid which would lend to a really competent development strategy. Something strengthened by the specific leagues they have clubs in. On the other end most of them don't really seem to have a lot of premium prospects or players, or contemporary tactics or schemes. Im not sure on Brondby or Estoril but Augsburg are known for their negative schemes and veteran laden rosters. Im no expert but these don't seem like football factories or aspirational clubs.

Does Everton change that who knows? They would have a clear end path with growth potential. Competent feeder clubs or connections in some of the best development clubs could build a nice petri dish that is self sustaining. That said they might just be amassing that simply for the portfolio. Steer these all to sustaining league position with clean books and garnering the profit with really an eye on re-selling. If thats the case we could be in store for a holding pattern of mediocrity.
