Be interesting to see what this does for McCarthys development, he has him it in him to play further forward, honestly the best game i ever saw him play was in front of two holding midfielders for Ireland - he defo has more in the bag offensively. Strangely ive also seen Gibson do it for Ireland as well.

Mo one critisim of both is they have the talent offensively, but they dont make that much of an impact for Everton.

he has our wingers now who don't need to worry about tracking back and doing the defensive duties, you can't allow them that freedom if you have two cnetre mids bombing forward as well. keeper, 4 defenders and 2 DM's to do the defensive bit and rarely shun from that, with the full backs providing an occasional attacking threat and then you have the attackers focusing purely on their attacking duties.

it's how it should be imo.
