Tom Davies, Gareth Barry, Man City.

Neither are foreign and have sleeve tattoos so they're invisible on snapchat to Millennial lizards.

League games at home with zero riding on them? Even a half fit half cut Gibson could look class in those types of games. In the games that have really mattered recently, Besic's performance here stands out above any I can think of from a midfielder in blue. He was very good in the Jagielka Anfield Derby too.

Hahaha. You asked for an example I just give you two in the same game.

Explain how the Man City game at home didn't have anything riding on it?!

Genuinely love how the Bosnian John Ebbrell gives you all hero worshipping semis despite being a complete and utter waste of money.and time.

Because it's a classic Goodison stroll in the sunshine the type Moyes used to conjure up nearly every single season. Nothing to play for, out of everything, pressure off, free swing and have a go. Surprise surprise we're capable of decent performances. As soon as we get within a sniff of any noticeable achievement the performance level is nowhere.

Besic is boss and when Everton are as disappointing as this current incarnation I'll cling onto whatever irrational hopes I can. He's injured and therefore can't disprove the glorious vision I have of him. That's a better thought than the reality of watching Gueye Davies and Barkley getting utterly schooled by Can and Lucas. It just is.

Mate I'm talking about playing Man City chasing the league on an unbeaten run in January while we are trying to put together a run to save our season. There was arguably just as much riding on it as a League Cup semi that City aren't that arsed about.

You can't cite a YouTube video Besic playing one good game in 3 years as evidence he's ace. I throw that lazy YouTube scout thing at your generation and quite frankly I expect you not to give yourselves up too easy like this.

Two Besic games stand out for me

And they were both half games, IIRC.

He came on as sub for Stones the day Mirallas was sent off versus Hammers and he was magnificent even though we lost.

The next home league game, against Arsenal, he started and seldom have I seen a worse performance from an Everton player.

He was so poor he was hooked at half time and replaced by Stones

He once marked Messi out the game, you know :pint2:

Nah there's time yet. Koeman likes Jordy Clasie so theres hope for a Besic if he stays fit and has a good pre season that he will get a chance in midfield. Time running out for him to take it though.

I would be made up for him. Seems like a good lad and is easy to root for. He's only 24, so you would hope he's still got a chance.

He's about 4th or 5th choice I would imagine so he will need to impress to get games. On a positive we'd probably not have seen Davies breakout if Besic was fit. Silver linings and all.

With Europe though we need depth. Here's hoping for prolonged fitness for this lad.

Europe is a good shout actually. He may get game time there. Davies would have still broke through. He's better than Besic despite the younger age.
