yeah maybe mukka, that was my thought (that they'd lost heart) at the time but of course, it could have been that we were just very good at passing it around. It was nice to see. The forward passes never really worked tonight, certainly in the first half DCL was making some good runs early and across the line that had he eother been picked out or a ball popped over the defence, he would have been through. It will come though.
Said in a different thread I think we got it slightly wrong tonight. I'd have played DCL up top with Rooney in behind making the passes rather than the runs. Siggy to the left forming a partnership with Baines. Think the 3 of them together, Wayne, Siggy and Baines, could become a little triangle of excellence.

Glad he got the full 90 minutes and I think we will see more of an improvement in him. Still seems a step behind at times, but I think that his quality will come through later in the season. He can pick a pass and make some very good tackles.

Walken's posts should all be read while taking note of the Sardonic Sans Serif font he uses mate.
Pound for pound, he's one of GOT's best posters.
RE: Walken - s'truth.

The things a healthy, fit, experienced Mo Besic could do. (ponders) If his fitness simply regresses to the mean, he's got a couple of healthy years lined up. It's still early. The trend looks promising. He just needs to find that edge and play up to it, but not past it. I think it's a matter of getting his timing back.

He kept trying to snap people when it was entirely unnecessary. Only second game back though, he deserves some grace

Not his best game for sure, but give him some slack as he's barely kicked a competitive ball in donkeys

Why are we obsessed about stupid stuff like this?

We deemed Heitinga a phony hard man when he did nothing to give off that impression and now the same with Besic?

Besides he may be a hard man for all we know. Not that it matters.

As for him not being good enough, he has missed the best part of 18 months with two serious injuries. It will take him time to get up to proper speed.

I thought he was generally fine tonight, played some very good balls over the top for players to run on to. Just looked a bit rusty and off the pace which is only natural all things considered.

Its not a question of him being good enough, he has a ton of talent. His mentality may be a bit suspect at times maybe.

I find your defensive behaviour regarding Besic extremely weird - but you're not the only one.

Encouraging words by Koeman about Besic, saying "I like the boy" and stated that he wants him to "control his tackles" sometimes. Perhaps that is why we didn't see him go for too many tackles last night. Up to my man Besic now to repay the faith, stay fit cos he has one thing none of Gana and Schineds has - vision to pick a good forward pass.

Fair enough.

I feel quite bad for those who can not see the ability the lad has got. He is a tremendous footballer. Its just a case of him putting it all together which will decide if he makes a career for himself here or not as he does some stupid things at times.

People shouting for us to sell him are a bit daft, nobody will be willing to buy him right now until he has proven his fitness, it would be like giving him away.

Maybe, just maybe, with an injury free run he may be able to show what he is capable of. Right now some people are judging him off a handful of games here and there broken up by massive injury lay offs.

That's what we do though I suppose...

How is he tremendous?

Injury prone players are a nuisance to have - people hype him up over essentially nothing, i think he tackled Gareth Bale once?
