Multi room speakers

If you are embedded with Amazon music why not just get a few Echo Studios and an Echo sub?
I have a mix of Sonos (primary) but also have Apple home pods. Would recommend both but suspect if you are Amazon centric, Amazon speakers will be best for you.
If you want Hi-Fi (ish) then Sonos are very good but I’m embedded with Apple so for me the HomePods are a better fit for ad hoc music. (Some of my Sonos stuff is pre Airplay comparability)

Sonos 5s are their proper audiophile gear but if you’re not necessarily that way inclined then Sonos 1s or the new Era 100 will suffice.
Stereo pairs of 1s / Era100’s sound better than individual ones but depending on the size of your home when they’re in multi room I suspect they would perfectly fine as individual ones.

B&O > Sonos > Bose. No question, but depends on budget as price matches performance imo

Sonos works well for me. Have a Sonos One, a Beam sound bar for the telly and a Sonos Roam which is a great little portable speaker to carry into the garden. All link up seamlessly for multi room stuff.

But for @chrismpw , also have a bespoke hi-fi setup for more considered listening.

Get 4 or 5 GOT mugs, drill a small hole in bottom of each. Tie some string and connect each mug so they form a large line of mugs all tied together. Place each one in a different room. Put your phone beside one and play music -- you now have a relatively cheap multi-room sound system.

That's very generous of you .... I'll pm you the postal address! 😁

Nooo! For MY considered listening.
Oh boooo!

Having questioned the need for multiroom music, I have sometimes thought it would be nice that what ever's playing in my lounge could also be channeled into the workshop so I can continue my groove from work to teabreak and back.

I notw your avatar with interest. Valve amp?

Yeah my main Hifi runs off a separate streamer which can link into the multi room speakers, so if I’m away from the floor standers, I can pipe into the garden or whatever.

Valve amp indeed, but a guitar amp. Pre and power valves for my 40w Marshall amp.
