Munich Air Disaster

I watched Harry Gegg on the tv tonight and now hold him in the highest esteem it actually brought tears to my eyes if only today's players where like him a point that stuck out was when he met some one who helped with the rescue and Harry said a lot of people that were not there wrote books and how disappointed he was that united have played there over the years but never gone to the site of the crash all moving stuff

I did not see it mate, it may be on BBCI, I'll check.

I had heard that Gregg and Faulkes had been out spoken about this over the years and quite rightly so, it was their mates that perished. People also forget that the Utd backroom staff got decimated as well, respect and values of our generation have just disappeared because people strangely place no value on them, so sad.

Cashing in

First thoughts obviously to surviving family and friends of all those who perished in this tradgedy. Only seen shaky footage of the team but they certainly looked ahead of their time and Duncan Edwards evokes so many 'what if' football fantasies it's incredible and easy to see why he was Bobby Charlton's hero.
The tradgedy today is that the corporate monster known as Manchester United football club seems to be cashing in on the sympathy to earn more money and extend their brand name even further. Any true Utd. fans will probably be more disgusted by this than all the disgusting 'Munich' chants sung by opposing fans over the years. I must painfully admit that in my early teens, I did sing along. Mindlessly believing this made me a more authentic part of the Everton family as it did seem as if the whole stadium was singing. Deep down, I always knew it was wrong, which makes me worse than the morons who think it's ok. that kind of people never have, and probably never will know any better. I did and I do. Sorry!
