80s for me.

I love Motown but the 80s was full on tunes. Music that hasn’t got old yano. Few Stella’s, a splif, few lines of the Colombian, it doesn’t matter as the music is boss.

70's as a full decade. The one-hit-wonders in that decade are unreal. Huge sign that the underlying scene was strong.

'90-'94 as an era. Absolutely loaded, so long as you don't insist that the stuff that went platinum is the best stuff. The music underground has a lot to do with why that period is so good. Bootleg live trading was at its peak.

Not knocking the '80s, there was serious quality.

90's for me. Rave & Hip Hop culture blowing up, Grunge/Alternative etc.

80's had some great stuff but my lasting memory of it is cold digital production, bad haircuts & Phil Collins snare drums, no thx.

60's & 70's both ace for soul, funk, jazz and prog rock.

00's and 10's (to a lesser extent) have produced tons of music I love but are perhaps not as innovative as previous decades due to no major new genres emerging, just lots of offshoots and progressing of previous ideas/sounds. Nothing wrong with that, as time passes it gets harder and harder to make anything genuinely original but perhaps this results in the decades being a bit more faceless than previous ones ?
