Not a specific decade for me JJ but an era from 1976 to around 1984. From punk to new wave, two tone, modern romantics, even disco. Electronic and reggae genres became mainstream. There were the very distinctive Merseyside and Scottish sounds, and of course it is the era that introduced the magnificent Kate Bush to the world.

They were downtrodden times economically, but you don't remember any of that growing up. Just the brilliant and totally eclectic music scene.

You've missed out the Glitterband and Rolf Harris there, who you must have followed around the Radio 1 Roadshow

Big Joe Walsh fan even now - liked Deep Purple Richie Blackmore was the first speed guitarist - Liked thin Lizzy too rock was always my interest - most underrated guitarist Gary Moore who died young with a heart attack -

The James Gang featured Joe Walsh on TOTP in the early 1970s - I knew he was special on first view .....

70's as a full decade. The one-hit-wonders in that decade are unreal. Huge sign that the underlying scene was strong.

'90-'94 as an era. Absolutely loaded, so long as you don't insist that the stuff that went platinum is the best stuff. The music underground has a lot to do with why that period is so good. Bootleg live trading was at its peak.

Not knocking the '80s, there was serious quality.

You've literary typed what I was going to say!! The seventies were amazing for music but then the nineties was also!! The two best eras!
