Sounds like abit like what we do over there. Imagine how different it would be if we hadn't stuck our noses over there in the first place.

You are being well over the top. Main topic aside, you are completely dismissing how hard it is to integrate into any society with such financial and social pressures. If you think it's so easy, you try going to the Middle East and see how long you'd last. And if your com back is 'Id never move over there anyway', thats right, you don't have bullets flying around out whats left of your front door and bombs up your arse.

It takes a generation and alot of hard work, and the mindset of the brainwashed thinking everyone in a Hijab is trying to blow them up makes them not want to integrate. You get to a certain age and things seem impossible, made more impossible with hostile locals.

There isn't any easy solution, but thinking every Arab is a Terrorist is just making a volatile environment even more unstable.

When did I say I thought every Arab was a terrorist? You're actually making up stuff to aid your non sensical argument. I dont understand why you find it so imperative to stick up for them! It's infuriating.

Mate facts are facts, (Rafael said so) the two societys are so different. If we did all go over to a middle eastern country of course we wouldnt intergrate into their society, it wouldnt work. We'd want freedom of speech, equal rights for women, the right to drink alcohol etc etc and it wouldnt work in their society. We know it, and respect it. So why do they think they can bring their ideology over here and expect it to work out ok? Because of people like you who tiptoe around them, letting them quite frankly take the piss out of our government and law system. they know they can get away with anything. Islam is an extreme religion by nature, it has no place in the western world. This doesnt mean I hate Muslims of course. I know it's cliche but I do have Muslim mates, allbeit not close ones as they dont tend to have close white friends lets be honest. But if asked do I agree with what they believe in, I would say no fricken way. The religion is backwards and doesnt fit in over here. If they toned it down, like ditch the unnessessary Burkah (not wishing to start THAT thread again), tried to get rid of some of their ridiculous laws and rules then maybe it would have a chance of working. Of course that will never happen. Lets be honest if their wives or daughters revealed their face to a western man theyd be in several suitcases within minutes. IT DOESNT WORK OVER HERE. Sorry but true. And I reserve my right to say it.

Its two people who can't stand to be in the same room as each other and no exit. If you aren't willing to change, why should they?

I'm not a Muslim. I'm not religious. I take every single man woman and child on their own merits. If Muslims are backing themselves into a corner because they won't change, I'm not going to put a gun to their head and force them to.

I'm just going to head down to Chinatown and grab some Noodles. We don't seem to mind them so much anymore, do we? Funny that.

Many thousands of Muslims died for Britain during WW 1 ... have a look at the Menin Gate Memorial at Ypres.

The first proposed act of vandalism connected with Remembrance was the Government's wish to tear dwn the Cenotaph, in the very early twenties. It was originally meant to be up for a year or so and was built of disposable materials.
 
Just read through the whole thread.

If history happened in neat, self contained little bundles of time, I could understand the outrage. Unfortunately the events we call history have an impact on the generations which follow us.

As the Bible says, you harvest what you sow.

I can think of a number of reasons why people from other cultures live here and have the moral right to do so, and I can also see why a number of them find overt celebrations of UK armed forces distasteful.

Wasn't it the Duke of Wellington who famously called his infantry "the scum of the earth"?

There are nine Muslim children in the class of 9 year olds I teach - just under a third of the class. Most of them take their religion quite seriously, going to their local mosque and learning Arabic and studying the Qu'ran. They also feel very British. Most of them support Spurs or Arsenal - and England in the World Cup (though the Pakistanis will support Pakistan in cricket)- and they talk about X-Factor, EastEnders, JLS, Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber and practise dances and swap football stickers with the other children in the playground. They have senses of humour, often about themselves and the culture differences they have to live through. They are polite, kind, decent, well-mannered children who are proud of their cultural heritage but who are also, in their own minds, very much British, and they are completely bemused by prejudice and racism of any sort. It doesn't make sense to them. When they go home they don't go to ghettos but rather live next door to white, Christian people. Sometimes a white Christian parent will pick one of them up as a favour to their neighbour. Other times, a Muslim parent will do the same for a Christian or Hindu child. This might seem remarkable to you but it is normal to them and to me.

And I'm sure they have moderate Muslim parents, but if you think that when they grow older they wont be exposed to extremism at some point then you are sadly mistaken. It is far more common than you are making out. It's just a case of wether they decide to follow it or not or are in a position where they can change Mosques. Mate I live near Luton, the capital of where all this [Poor language removed] is coming from. You can understand my fury when thousands of the ****ers have a sit down on a road in Bury Park listening to some Immam (Spelling) preaching death to the west. If you think its a minority you are wrong. I would go as far to say as it's 50/50 although obviously I cant back that up, just a feeling I get with what I see. Of that only a very very small percentage go on to actually do anything about their beliefs, but the beliefs are still there. But the fact remains that our way of life is wrong to ALL of them. And they tell us. At every oppertunity. I dont think anyone should accept that.

I try! This blindness and keeness to defend them is just as dangerous. They know they can get away with whatever because of our fear of being called racists. If they all think that extremism is so wrong, how comes none of the so called 'majority' of good muslims never come out and say anything?!
