he isnt definately out yet, and i wanted to see him play. i thought he was hard done to at chelsea, a scape goat for other issues they had there at the time.

performance enhancers yes, but recreational? thats a bit different really.

Dont wanna start again, but when kids watch and idol players, who then fail a drugs test, (no matter what the substace is) then thats not really sending out the right msg is it? 7 month ban, spot on.(y)

Yeah probably. I sometimes wonder how many players are on something or other though. It was rife at Juventus a while back.

how many players used to and still do like a few lagers?

who is getting the benefit from a player being half cut on the field?

famously we have had players that would have a ciggy or two at half time.

someone has pipped up and talked about player example, anyone using footballers as inspirational figures needs to reevaluate their beliefs, shagging around, cheating on the pitch, dodgy dealing off it, violence on and off the pitch, hello magazine, racism, lies, corruption.

for all the good lads that do their hospital visits and charity work are outnumbered by the [Poor language removed] that get carried away with the lifestyle and whore themselves and their profession for as many quick thrills as possible.

genuine heroes, genuine icons, genuine inspirational people are few and far between. its sport, not saving lives.

Coz he failed one for cocaine back in 2004 and was banned for 7 months.

Certainly one to watch though as he's scored 14 in 20 games this season according to Wiki.

In the past we lost players for good over drugs, Albert Dunlop for starters and some in between. It is hoped that sport should be clean, leniency does not help with drugs(n)

Its funny here in the US we take drug users and lock them up and throw away the key however when it comes to sports most penalites (performance or non-performance) we tend to forgive and give a slap on the wrist.

When did Linford Christie get done for banned substances?

Heard it on the radio t'other day. Apparently 1999 or something.

First I've heard. I thought he retired before then anyways.

Actually I may have dreamt the whole thing. Apologies if I did.
