Well, I must start with an apology for what has gone before, this is the last thing I wanted I had simply left the forum, no dummy out of the pram job, just left because I could no longer stomach some of the reactionary posts being made. I suffer amongst many things with hyper tension, four pills a day to control my blood pressure when normally there is only one pill needed. When I see anything that is diametrically opposed to my beliefs it can, depending on the topic, set my blood rate pounding, Rob you have a happy knack of doing it even after I told you where to go! The thoughts expounded in your post flew in the face of all that myself, father, and grandfather had fought against all of our lives. It appears that you want to see Victorian values imposed on a modern society, kids up chimneys and young women into service they must work no matter what! I don't work because I can't and wish I could because I would be many pounds financially better off rather than the meagre £75 a week I get. What do I see? some one in Japan reckons that, despite my investing in a system all my 35 years working life, I left school at age 14, I am not entitled to the pittance I get at present, this coming from a person who prefers Japan over any other society in the world, stay there mate because I was brought to hate and detest everything about Japan having lost relatives to their torture on the Burma railway. I understand that others are now suggesting that the NHS be scrapped an other such right wing rubbish. I assume that you people would all like to see the beggars return in great numbers to our streets, Maggies dossers sleeping in shop doorways and subways..........enough said I'm not stopping. Before any person tells me that people are entitled to write what they want they should always bear in mind that controversial posts will upset some and so should temper those posts accordingly. Members always have the option to switch others posts off but no one does and half the time offending posts are replicated in others postings which nullifies that tool anyway.
I cannot afford any more health problems so I had told some in here of my intention to leave, you do not do that for effect it was, and is, my intention but I could not be held responsible for what went on in Gaz's thread. My nephew was so infuriated at what he had seen that he, a bit like me, told it how he saw it. The bi-product of his actions mean that I have ended up with egg on my face, having wanted to simply leave: the forum gets drawn into my health problems which is the last thing I wanted.
Sorry to have bored you all with this prolonged explanation but I felt it necessary. I thank all my well wishes for their good will, I will certainly miss you all as I have to date but I hope you now understand where I'm coming from lads. I may post predictions in the league but I will see how I feel then. Gaz, I hope your book club idea takes off and you can count me in. I do have some good books, vids and programmes to give away as my daughter will not want them and Digsy my nephew has seen them all, Welts if you could contact me I'd be delighted for you to have some mate and best of luck with your results. CT, if I was half as funny and accurate as you mate I'd be a good one, you are pure class mate.
