Dylan, it is over 20 years old, has had a respray at some time, even if there is only 10k miles on the clock it is still a beat up BMW (Black Man's Wheels) banger.
The salesman must have seen you coming.
Actually, private sale and an astounding 247,477 miles on the clock
. And the beauty is she is still running strong. The engine will still probably explode in 100 miles though

The missus is car shopping at the moment. She's got her eye on a Lexus IS 200 SE, but i'm trying to put her off - 20 mpg (ish), rearwheel drive and insurance group 12, for feck's sake!
I'm trying to steer her to something more sensible, a Golf maybe, or a Passat. I quite like the look of the new Civic, but have not looked at the specs yet.
So, I'm looking for ideas (she usually picks by colour, so it's just a case of 'it must be black and nothing French or Italian').

she bought a golf, and the thing that pleases her most about it is, of course, the chilled glovebox.
