Apparently those in the audience wanting to ask questions have to submit two beforehand, and a further question when they enter the building. Then the audience is told whose questions will be accepted. His main question was to be on the Budapest Memorandum, and was it now 100% dead. A thorny subject at the present time. His question was not selected for the programme, so he had to just sit it out.

Here's a screen capture. He is on the left with his hand to his face:

I think the BBC use this format to screen out verbosity.

Lot's of Q+A's I watch on Utube are basically people in the audience delivering a 3 minute speech, rather than asking a simple question of the speaker or panel.

NB= Usually deranged Marxist's who think life would be better if we all lived in North Korea.

…I think that means he wasn’t on. Nearly but not quite.
He was on, as you can see in the screen capture. His question was not featured, probably becasue it would have had the politicos on the programme uncomfortable in trying to reply as to why the Budapest Memorandum has been ignored/torn up by both sides...

….many years ago when the kids were small we were given tickets for a Question of Sport. We sat right behind Sue Barker but just before it started the producer asked us to move because my son & his pal had Everton shirts on. Mrs Eggs & my daughter stayed put, clearly seen on telly whilst I had to get out of shot with the boys.

Everton that.
