Nan on me mum’s side, still going at 84 has had some belters in her time.

She once taped When Harry Met Sally off the tele, she titled the VHS box When Harry Met Larry. That’s a a completely different film that one nan.

She’s got dementia now, but she still brings it up and laughs about it. I’ll never get tired of hearing it. She’s also started calling me youngest lad by my name now. Dementia can do one!

Would love to still have mine about unfortunately i dont!

Anyway im sure many still do and have great stories about theirs, tell us them.

BTW if you call ye nan 'grandma' you're a bad tory!
What about grandmater? Asking for a friend.

I only remember my nana who died shortly before my 10th birthday. The only other grandparent was a grandad who died when I was 9 months. Other than my nana's weekly delivery of chocokate chewing nuts I feel I kinda missed out on the whole grandparent thing.

All 4 of mine died when i was in my early teens, so me too mate.

One of things i'll never forget is the the toast used to ripped to shreds because the butter was rock hard..

The house always smelt of toast no matter what time of day it was.
Also remember always playing with the stoke for the coal fire, constantly prodding away it and walking out with a black face from the smoke.

Me Nan never stopped telling me if I ate too many sweets I’d have worms, sure it’s the reason I don’t have a sweet tooth! She used to take me to Kirkby market on a Saturday once or twice a month and would open up a stinking packet of tripe and onions on the bus on the way home, I’d die of embarrassment for about ten minutes because of the whiff.. she didn’t give a flying…
