My mistake Simon, I thought you were talking about Nathan Patterson not the Norwich player, I agree with you about him, sorry about that!!

No I have seen a fair bit of Patterson as I tend to watch the Scotland games rather than England (Born in Liverpool but grew up in Scotland) he looks good going forward and can run with the ball (we are crying out for this) but defending, well I don't think he is as bad as some are making out but it's not his strong point.

I would prefer it if our rivals didn't get a lot of money for their players.

Getting money for a player who has hardly played for them, that can be spent on players who actually get game time could improve the Rangers squad. I would rather that didn't happen.

I haven't criticised Patterson once on this thread, because I haven't seen much of him. I searched for his name on the forum to see what the English side were saying, because I didn't believe the Scottish MSM reports that Everton would pay £10 million for him. I was wrong.

He is a very good player, only kept out the team by their captain. If he played in any other position he would play every week.

No matter what your opinion on Mr K. When he was in charge he managed to bring in some quality players. He's a smooth talker.

They were bargain basement buys who were at lesser clubs/going nowhere in their career. Hardly persuaded Zidane to swerve the delights of Madrid for County Road.

My mate in Glasgow (big Rangers fan) response to why Patterson has hardly played:

The reason he has only started 14 or so games is simply that Tavernier is our captain and nailed on first choice right back. Had Patterson played any other position he’d have started every game. He is strong defensively and great going forward great crosser of the ball and has a few goals at international European level. He’s a big Rangers fan. I’ll be watching his progress closely…

As a ‘sweaty sock’, I hope he does well for us. By Jings, we need some improvement!

I have only seen him play twice in a full 90 minutes. Once for TRIFC against Celtic, and once for Scotland.

I am a Rangers season ticket holder so l have seen a fair bit of him.

My first Everton game was Alan Balls return with Arsenal a good few years ago now.
