Yet three of the visitors’ goals were engineered down Everton’s right flank. On his selection decision, Dyche said: “Just Ben’s experience, playing here and his experience in football in general. We know Patto is a very good player and is going to continue to learn. He’s been out a very long time as well earlier in the season.

“Seamus is making good progress. We think there’s a chance of his recovery before the weekend. It’s not just about one player but he was affected too easily for two goals.”

TLDR: Played Godfrey due to his "experience".

An actual functioning full back who can also be a threat going forward and he’s sat on his backside watching Ben Godfrey turn in some of the worst professional footballing “performances“ I’ve ever seen.
It’s unlikely Patterson, as a full back, would have let the opposition player turn him so easily for the first goal. It looks as if he was yards off him.

Good to know it has nothing to do with quality and its all about "experience". Type of old school extinct dinosaur thinking thats got us to this point

Keane, Tarkowski, Godfrey, Gueye, Mcneil, Doucoure & Pickford all got "experience" in getting relegated.

If this is the hill he’s going to die on its ludricrous.

You have scotlands first choice right back getting splinters whilst Coleman is injured and he insists on playing holgate and Godfrey who aren’t even decent CBs due to experience?!

If Coleman is injured, Patterson plays.

Beggars belief really.

Also if you were intent on playing a CB instead of a FB I'd be looking at the other side of the pitch first.

I don't think Patterson is great defensively, but based on Hoglate and Godfrey's showings at RB he cannot be any worse!
