Dont have to mate. He turned away from goal yet again last night to offer Harrison standing behind him a gilt edged chance to score and allowed the same player to get dangerous crosses in all night.

We got away with it thankfully.

He is what I've said all along: defensively frail but a prospect going forward.

If I see any different then I'll register it myself. I wont need a spin campaign to force me into it.
He's got a bruised arse from having Harrison in his back pocket all night Dave. Harrison, by the way, gives far more seasoned defenders than Patterson a hard time. Patterson barely gave him a sniff.

I'm not part of a spin campaign by the way Dave, I travel my own road. I do, however, find your constant, for the most part unwarranted, criticism of this boy mystifying. You made a rash judgement of him and it may not have been the correct one. It happens, I have repeatedly refered to the harsh criticism I gave to Iwobi and admitted I was too quick to judge. Mind you I did at least give him a few months before deciding he was gash.

Admit that you may have this one wrong Dave. It's early days yet and you may well be prove right in the fullness of time. The evidence up to now, however, seems to suggest otherwise.

Rangers fan here, not read the full thread but on this page it seems everyone isn't convinced of him.

I mean this with the greatest respect but he will end up at better side than yourselfs in the future. I know the standard is way below what he's up against in the epl. Most of our league is probably bottom end championship so I don't get carried away to much when players look good against them. However, he came into a very good rangers side and didn't look out of place one bit, he started against lyon away in a 2-2 draw in Europe and it was if he was having a kick about down the park with his mates. For his age the composure he showed you would have thought he was a seasoned pro.

I actually think we should have sold tav (our captain) to accommodate patterson and kept him for a few years before he moved on to a better league. He is still learning so there will be mistakes at times, the problem now is he's in a league where if you make a mistake he's playing against real quality that hel get punished for it, also in the epl very few teams of being able to carry someone through games while they learn. Up here mistakes aren't punished nowhere near as much so mistakes made by players get papered over a bit.

When KT left celtic for arsenal a few up here said hel get found out down there, I always said hel hold his own down there, IMHO patterson will go on to be better than him.

Lampard is putting together a group of young players supported by experience.

Next summer we have funds coming in from sales and out of contract players to free up wages.

Thats when we improve the forward line and make our push for Europe.

Miserable arse just admit the lads got a bright future and a lot going for him. And he’s our player so let’s encourage the lad and who knows he might put a smile on your face one day hopefully Saturday ?

No chance.

He could go on to be the next Roberto Carlos and he`d still be doubling down, on the fact that he came from " the fascist club ".

Wish he put his foot through that chance. Apart from that what a player we have.

…I think he struck it cleanly, if It was to go in it needed to be struck inside the far post. Lampard said as much after the game.

I’ve seen him score a few in that position so I was a little surprised he didn’t take it more across the keeper. Next time.

... He placed it right at the keeper, I put that down to experience and nerves.

... Where have you seen him score goals in that position at senior level?

It was like every golfer you've ever seen freeze up the first time they have the lead on the back nine in a major. Happens to most of them before they win one.
