So a player can never pocket a superstar player? Ever? Daft shout. It's obvious to see a player who has legs and better positioning sticks to him. Instead, Coleman is at the half way line and miles away from him. He was finished years ago unfortunately and last night was painful.

I'm not saying he's not
I am saying he would not have had an impact on that goal, it was a defense splitting pass, good movement from Ronaldo and a great finish
We have a tendency to give players not playing super human powers, he's faster than Coleman but he's not Usain Bolt's faster long lost brother

I didn't say that can't happen, you did. Watch the goal again and tell me how Patterson would've changed it?
I was referring only to the goal, it was a great pass, and superstar quality thereafter.
You think Patterson has better positioning than Coleman now? That's daft. He's faster and stronger, that's it. If he was stuck to Ronaldo then we'd be complaining about him not getting forward when we had possession.
It was an unexpected turnover, punished by a great pass. To say Patterson would've changed anything is what's daft

IMO, Patterson wouldn't have been 20/30 yards off his man. Stood at the halfway line. Esp if he knew he had no legs and was against a quick player. Coleman stayed back so often due to his lack of pace, yet decides to move up at that point.

I absolutely think Patterson has better positioning than Coleman. Have the men in black paid you a visit and wiped your memories of last season? This is like a Monty Python sketch

I am not getting into a Coleman v Patterson debate with you
Patterson is our first choice RB and rightly so
You are turning it into this on the basis that I said NP would not easily pocket one of the greatest players of all time because someone said definitively that the goal would not have happened. If you disagree with that then explain to me how it would work?
Do you think 10/20 yards off Ronaldo would be ok? 5 yards? What? The pass would've taken James/Cafu/Hibbert/anyone everyone out and since when is the Centre Forward the RBs 'man' when in possession on the attack? Coleman was in the right position because we were on the attack at home and lost the ball, simple as that
If Patterson was back watching for a pass when Utd don't have the ball in the that situation I'd be fuming
