Player Valuation: £40m
Nations League is absolutely worthless. All it does is drag the top national teams into the muck. And as bad as it is in Europe, it’s even worse in North America where sides like the USA and Mexico have to go play “competitive” matches on lumpy uneven pitches in cricket grounds and risk all kinds of injuries.

At least your first sentence made sense.

The USA could have spent this window playing some measuring stick friendlies and seeing where they stand before the World Cup but no, instead they had to go down and play El Salvador in a vegetable garden.

Bout time the US and Mex got on the cricket train. What could be an equivalent 'Ashes'?
No!
Look at football. For over a century the US showed zero interest in the beautiful game but then someone explained to them that there was money on it and now they're showing an interest by buying up all our clubs to syphon up that money. They can get away from cricket!

Agreed.

If they’re going to do it, they need to expand it across continents, but then even that seems pointless.

In Europe we’ve probably got the teams to make it interesting (this has been 4 games at the end of a season, when the players know they’ve got a full season + a World Cup to contend with), but what benefit do USA, Mexico, Canada get from playing Suriname and Grenada?

It’d be interesting to see it for the Americas in full, I reckon.

Agreed, I'd like to see ours combined with South America.

Could easily have a top 8 of

Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, Canada, Chile, Mexico and Colombia.

Then a group of like Costa Rica, Peru, Paraguay, Jamaica and so on.

For me though, it’s just boring. Same teams, every 2 years? It’s a nice novelty, but maybe as an every 4 years thing.

No one benefits from the likes of Suriname-USA in a non-competitive game.

Think of the baseballers, think of the roids, the ball clean out of the ground, they'll want 12 runs for the super clearances. Imagine a 9 ball ton. Long seasons in the central American sun, tropical cervezas, borrowing the cheerleaders from the NFL for the drinks breaks, this could be beautiful (them babes certainly are).

I like the idea of the Nations League, especially for the lower ranked nations to be playing more games at their own level, a relative level of success rather than just being tonked every few months and nobody gaining anything from it.
I do as well mate tbh and it helped the likes of Scotland to get to the last Euros through the play offs. It also stops a lot of pointless friendlies, I used to go to a lot of England games and to see 7 or 8 changes at half time made it a mockery. I do think that this years should have been changed, or even cancelled, due to the world cup in November, I got the impression that a lot of nations were not really bothered.
