That extra touch before his basic shot just sums up his form.

He plays like he is moving through mud. I thought a lot of the balls down the side and crosses would be bread and butter for Dominic Calvert-Lewin even Simms would offer more.

Two decent positions to catch the ball first time. A better striker would have bagged a brace today.

….I honestly don’t know how a striker can have so much game time and never once look like scoring a goal. Must be the easiest forward in the league to mark.

He’s not troubling you with pace, he’s not troubling you with quality, he’s no aerial threat, he’s ineffective running the channels, his back to goal technique is ordinary & he’s never getting onto anything played over the top.

Imagine thinking we should spend £15m on him.

And he would have done nothing and then people would have argued that maupay should have started and vice a versa…

They are both nowhere near good enough and thelwell/the board should be hounded out of this club for leaving us with them two.

Warning signs were there when people defended this signing at the time by saying he winds defenders up. We needed goals, not wind up merchants.

Sad thing is, with a proper scouting system we might of got a better, more potent player from abroad for the same fee or less.

Fair to say that dyche would have seen enough today to start with simms in the next couple of games until dcl is fit. Mcneill played as a winger and caused more problem with his running in behind than this guy which tells the full story.
