Rondon, maybe?
Maybe, but at least he offfered strength and could hold the ball… I honestly cannot see what maupay offers… he’s like Tony Cottee but without the goal poaching and finishing ability

Rondon, maybe?
He wasn't being asked to be a target man at Brighton and carry the forward line on his own.His 3 seasons with Brighton, he scored 10, 8 and 8. Not great numbers of course, but we would probably have been ok with him if he got the same numbers last season.
He obviously looked like he couldn't hit a barn door last season, let alone double figures, so for those who watched him at Brighton - what was the difference? If you can score 10 goals in a premier league season you are obviously not rubbish or a donkey, but why was he so ineffective for us compared to moderately effective for Brighton?
Brighton create a lot more higher quality on the deck chances than we do.His 3 seasons with Brighton, he scored 10, 8 and 8. Not great numbers of course, but we would probably have been ok with him if he got the same numbers last season.

Brighton probably played to his strengths. We were trying to us him as we'd use DCL, which he is not physically capable of.His 3 seasons with Brighton, he scored 10, 8 and 8. Not great numbers of course, but we would probably have been ok with him if he got the same numbers last season.

I have to say to score you have to be in a position were you can score from. He doesn't seem to go in the box.
Who knows with a preseason, he might improve? As you said if was getting 8 goals for us it would have been a decent signing for the money. Not saying he should play up front alone or the answer to covering from DCL. But maybe as a second striker alongside DCL or whoever we sign. Doubt it, will happen.
He could not score in a brothel ... end of ...Sorry, and no offence, but this what is ruining our club, believing 8 goals would be a good return. It isn’t, it’s crap, we’ve had centre halves score more goals in a season…..
Surely it’s obvious what the difference isHis 3 seasons with Brighton, he scored 10, 8 and 8. Not great numbers of course, but we would probably have been ok with him if he got the same numbers last season.

Nope. I never watched him at Brighton so don't know, hence the questionSurely it’s obvious what the difference is
And he still missed absolute howlers quite often.Brighton create a lot more higher quality on the deck chances than we do.
