Anyone ever had any?

I've had a few risky situations in my time. Once at a foam party, another time I have been shot at, another time I was in a coma for a bit and once I hung from a 30+ft drop by just my finger impailed on a nail but this morning was definitely the closest I've been to serious injury.

Was driving in Speke at 70 and some absolute belter on the slip road coming off decides to pull back on the motorway to overtake another car on the sliproad. As he pulled back on, a car on the motorway had to slam on and me behind it, also had to break suddenly. It was wet and the car infront actually lifted off the ground and I ended up across two lanes, just skimming the car infront (which skidded left) and one to the side by literally inches. If either car had spun another angle (mine skidded right then left) it was definitely a serious pile up crash. How I managed to not hit anything, especially the car infront and to the side it i'll never know, especially having to turn into two skids. Will have to thank the big fella up there for that one. It was literally right by were a few youngsters died last year.

Drive safe girls and boys.

So, back to thread. Close calls.... lets hear yours!

I was on a flight to the greek island of Corfu with an ex girlfriend when as our plane started to decend we encountered a violent electrical storm . The seat belt signs came on followed by the captain telling us we had been instructed to stick to the original flight path so we had no choice but to go through the storm which by now was bufitting the plane from side to side . Flying , up until that point hadnt bothered me much but I had never been through anything like what was happening to us . To be frank I scared sh*tless and it was about to get a whole lot worst . Just as my ex grabbed me and I her a flash came through the windows lighting up the cabin followed by a massive CRACK ! . Everyone and I mean everyone , women , children , hairy blokes and Sterwardesses screamed . The engines let out a god awful whale and the plane dropped for what felt like a minute though in reality probably only 5 or so seconds .

I went white a sheet and nearly strangled my ex as I clung on for dear life . You learn an awful lot about yourself in times like that and I found out that if I was faced with death I would cry like a baby

The landing was equally as frightening but we got down . Everyone couldnt get off fast enough and it got quite heated between a few sets of people who were pushing to get off . I just sat rooted to my seat thankfull to still be breathing . As I was getting off the pilot was already on the tarmac inspecting a massive fcuk off scortch mark on the side of the plane . " Nice one captain your a hero " I said shaking his hand " " What " he said looking mystified as he simply walked off and back on the plane . Pilots are a mad bunch as to him that was nothing just another day at the office .

I drove through Norris Green once.

That was an accident waiting to happen.

Also, I've eaten a peach. Those things can't be safe.

Why all the fuss about Norris Green ? I dont get it . Ive worked there loads and the people seem sound . Never had a problem . The media have just blown up the situation into something it isnt . All it is is a hardcore of around 15 or so young lads who have access to one or two guns . Same with Croxteth . The police simply need to smash them . No messing around . All we are talking about are youg ferel teenagers who need some rough justice . Its not like Manchester were things are on a totally different level .

It was sarcasm mate.

On par with the peach.

I have had a few close calls in a car.. im an excellent driver, i just push it to the limits a bit too much !

anyway i got a new car a few years ago, stupid quick ! and was round a mates before town! decided to go the shop, and as i had only had a few (enough to boost my confidence haha and make me stupid) i wanted to show my car off so drove it with the lads to the shop.

must have been doing around 80, and the corner went 45 degree left then right..

as i was hammering it, i went round the first corner... the car started to flick out at the back, i done the usual and atttempted to pull it back in and ended up fish tailing it the other way..

heading towards a low garden wall sideways i some how managed to literally scrape it along it, and pull it back together.

after shitting myself, pulled over.. and said to the lads.. wat the ****. did we hit that lol..

got out and their was a paint scuff about 4 inch's by 4 inches, in one panel only, not even a dent.. it was literally a scrape !!

couldnt believe it .. soooo lucky!! prob wudda really hurt !!

also mate was driving once down by vauxhalls.. went round a sharp corner, spun the car.. flew right in front of a lorry and came back onto the same side of the road.. inches in front of it.. jesssus !! lol

I was run over by a car when I was a kid.
The car had swerved to miss another kid and trapped me between itself and another car. I guess that was a near death experience, but can only really remember my leg bones sticking out of my legs and not much else.
Have been stabbed, and had a few near misses with trains and busses but they don't really count .

When I was a baby I got left in front of a window and had a temperature fit, went blue apparently, probably why I support everton.

I remember when I was younger trying to steady some empty cages (like what deliveries are made in) in the back of a lorry with a mate as it reversed down to a loading ramp with its doors open, the di***head of a driver was bouncing the lorry backwards on his breaks all the time, really jerky driving, anyway, too much for the weight, this big restraining bar went, wacked me in the head and the cages piled out the back at a hell of a pace, me and my mate jumped out and just managed to literally dive out the way like some hollywood movie just avoiding the tabgled pile of squashed cages and twisted metal. Stupid job, stupid company, gone bust now.

1989, my mates and I had tickets to see REM at the NEC in Birmingham. My mate rented a car, brand new Orion, and we set off from Birkenhead. We drove through Bebington and on to the Dibinsdale road. For those who are familiar with the area, you'll know it's a curly wirly affair. The mate who was dribving didn't know the road and took the the first bad curve at about 65. it's really narrow and next thing you know there's a transit van almost on top of us as we were on the white line. My mate swerved sharply and the car went up on the enbankment and rolled. suddenly we were upside down with the car spinning round on it's roof in the middle of the road. We quickly realised we were all alive and in one piece.
Like that scene in Jaws, that was the scariest moment for me as we were crawling out, I thought someone alse was going to come round the curve at 70 and plough into us. Didn't happen though so it was hug city for a moment and we were all perfectly alright. My mate, the driver's brother, had a little scratch on his arm. The car was a write off and the guy who towed it away said 'what you need now is a good spliff'. I was living nearby at the time in Bromborough so we took his advice. We also realised that we weren't going to die that day so we rented another car and went down to Brum to see REM.
I went white in the middle of the concert and through up. Delayed shock or too much spliff? We'll never know.
