awful reading that, many who "survived" will carry what they experienced for the rest of their lives, the thing that brought it all home to me the most at the time is it could so easily have been me in there with blues. then i started to hear accounts from people who went, like a 15 y.o girl who was getting crushed against the back wall at the side of the tunnel and someone leaned down from above and hauled her out, she couldnt even reach her hands up, he grabbed her somehow and saved her life.
a horrific day that should never be forgotten by any football supporter. amongst others i should add, like the victims of the bradford fire and the disasters at burnden park and ibrox. all innocent fans out to watch a game of footy and have a laugh

Very sad. fortunately didn't lose a friend or family memeber at Hillsborough but like You Esk, got back to the car with my cousin buzzing on the result and we drove back in silence. The positive side is the sentiment I'm getting about how important it is to let the people you care about know that you care. let them know today and although they'll probably be there tomorrow you can tell them again tomorrow

I was another coming back from Villa park that day, only a work mates son (terrible enough i know) was killed there, but i had other mates who'd been badly injured and 1 or 2 of them still suffer mental health issues to this day.

For me looking at the kop, with all those flowers is something i'll never forget

i remember all sitting in the carparks listening to the radios on the coaches, it was only near the end of the game that a copper said to us that people had died, there had been an announcement on the scoreboard to say that play had stopped and we asked the coper what had happened. i dont think there was a sound while we all listened to the news report.

What i can remember is was the police we spoke to just said crowd trouble, inferring fighting, not what transpired thats for sure
