Compared to many on here I am very new to internet message boards. I try and follow an approach that what I post on here I'd happily say down the pub. It strikes me that if some on here carried on in a pub or with their family like they post on GOT - after a while - their mates, family would ask "do you actually support Everton?", or "Jesus, find another hobby that's clearly not doing you any good following the blues" or maybe more simply "give it a rest eh?".

There's a recession on. Young lads are out in Afghanistan. The weather is crap but we've got a team playing half decent footy and we're actually going into February with something to play for. Not that it should matter but for the first time in 25 years even the worst of the RS fans admit we're a better team.

I'm not getting into the Kenwright debate but its everything with some fans on here.

Can we lighten up a bit? Almost every thread is polluted with folk ****ging off Moyes or some of the players (never mind the board). The aborted transfer of Fer is a great case in point for some of the warped thinking.

We're a point of Spurs and will hopefully be with them or above at the weekend. That leaves Chelsea whose fans are on the verge of rioting it seems with Benitez, treatment of Lampard etc and then only the global franchise of United and the oil billionnaires of Citeh.

A few years ago we were in a grouping with Villa and Newcastle. Both clubs would happily swap with us tonight.

Can we at least try and enjoy the remainder of the season before no doubt the whole Moyes contract/Kenwrong /Philip Green saga will see the club collapse in a pit of its own making in the summer?!

Not sure why you felt the need to score points by bringing the war in Afghanistan into it mate. I'm sure those posting on here realise that men are dying in wars.

negative, negative , negative Brenners, He is not scoring poitns he is trying to show that compared to some we have very little to bitch about.

I didn't mean any offence. Sorry if that reference offended anyone. My point is that the world is crap at times and for many of us Everton is meant to be a nice bright spot. That's all.

FFS.

The young lads are out in Afghanistan, and? What's that got to do with Everton?

My cousin's one of them as is my Uncle who was near blown to bits a while ago, but that's got naff all to do with my right to complain about footballing issues. In fact, I'd actually say you were trivialising them risking their lives. Ridiculous.

Of course it's no biggie Everton not signing anyone when your brother/son has just been blown to bits, but come on. You can't say that we don't have a right to complain about Everton simply because other people have it worse regarding totally different issues.

Take no notice mate. It's late and alcohol may have been consumed by many posters. You made some good points, but we're Evertonians of many years and tend to be a tad pessimistic.

The thing is, people don't usually say anything when things are good, or if they agree, otherwise it becomes a bit boring. Once someone disagrees with another poster, or doesn't like something, they'll post about it.

That's why a lot of message boards and forums appear negative, because well, you can't positively moan like. I'm sure the majority of us on here, even the majority of "negative posters", are happy in general, but it won't appear balanced.

Besides, it'd be a boring place if we all got along after all.

Give the guy a break about the Afghanistan reference- he's just trying to say there are people with real issues and Everton should be a good thing at the moment.

I hate the negativity too and when people only come on here when we lose or something negative happen it does make you think if they actually support the club.

Good original post, far too many knee-jerk reactions on here
