Nah Not A New Wife !!

Gonna get a new boiler fitted, currently on an old system with a water tank in the loft, so converting to a combi boiler. My house is small so the boiler will be relocated in the loft and the cylinder removed to make room in the bedroom. I've got online quotes from Boxt, I Heat and Heatable, about 4-5k. Anyone used any of these ? I'll probably get a few local quotes too, see if they can do better or price match.

Keep the immersion heater for scrap, it's worth about £60 iirc. And 5k sounds huge, are they chucking all new pipes and rads in for that or just plumbing into the system thats there already? This is a big question.

Sometimes the boiler needs topping up so the loft might not be a good location if it’s not easily accessible.

I got a baxi, there afterservice has been excellent.
Had a long garrentee and as long as your fitter is accredited by baxi and has serviced ot every year , they are out quick and you are covered came out twice last year fitted a complete new motor no charge.
We have had it 8 years.
Would get on again if looking for a new one.

Waste of time as they are getting rid of gas .... while they fill our rivers & seas full of poo......

But the bullet just over a year ago and got a new boiler through British Gas. Unfortunately due to building regs I had to move the boiler to a different room in the house and this involved diverting pipes etc…. Cost around 4K in total with a long guarantee and regular service and I’m covered for any breakdowns on it for 4 years (if I recall correctly).

!6 inch Dunsley open fire wrap around boiler .... plus 8 radiators ......cheaper than Gas.....
