Nah Not A New Wife !!

Gonna get a new boiler fitted, currently on an old system with a water tank in the loft, so converting to a combi boiler. My house is small so the boiler will be relocated in the loft and the cylinder removed to make room in the bedroom. I've got online quotes from Boxt, I Heat and Heatable, about 4-5k. Anyone used any of these ? I'll probably get a few local quotes too, see if they can do better or price match.

Get a local quote mate. Baxi boilers are decent and have a good warranty. Usually cheaper than the Vaillants and Worcester-Bosch options. Their website will list accredited installers local to you: https://www.baxi.co.uk/

Agreed, that sounds really expensive. It's about 4 years ago but I had a 'back boiler' (located in the chimney) pulled out, the tank removed from the loft, and a new Worcester-Bosch installed.

A local firm quoted on a Baxi which was a few hundred cheaper, but went with the Worcester option on speed. I'd just brought the place and it was fecking freezing.

Nowhere near 5k, that's for sure.

Literally just had my Boiler replaced today, went from a Worcester Bosch to a Glow-worm ( as recommended by the gas man ) and it's already doing my 'Nut in', trying to get the hang of it
