What the club should have done is:

Let the fans (there must be some pro designers) design draft badges and let the fans decided which one they wanted.

They could have released dozens of designs , invited the public to submit designs through the web site, forums and the echo.

They decided to go in house and now they have been slaughtered for it.

Exactly. The board deserve the stick. I hope we can force them to re-design that awful badge.

I wonder if this whole thing is reverse psychology. They done the badge as joke to annoy basically every Evertonian and make them go from the lowest opinion of the club to a sudden high and then they are going to release a statement saying they have secured investment in the club, Moyes is staying and going to build a title challenging team with hundreds of millions to spend.

Sounds fair and the club should have done that. Maybe 10 not 4 or 5 draft designs.

I laugh but how long before we have the the ground or main stand sponsored by Wonga.

What we are seeing played out here is an owner who is so desperate to hang in their that he is prepared to rub out the history and tradition of the club to save pennies and pounds.

Whatever people's view on the badge is (and its fair to say the vast majority are dead against it), I can't believe how badly the club has handled it. Notwithstanding the rumours of a new badge that have been circling for weeks without the club making any attempt to clarify, when they finally decide to go public, it's done through the website on a Saturday without any fanfare. I might be wrong but I don't even recall the club even suggesting that they were looking at a badge redesign.

Then in the ensuing sh!tstorm, our illustrious CEO has gone to ground. It's as if they knew there'd be a negative response and they've thought they could get it over and done with over the Bank Holiday and that it would all blow over quick enough. I think they've MASSIVELY misjudged the reaction and for once the supporters are standing together to send a message to the club

Am far more interested in who are new manager will be ,and not a badge that the club has changed many times throughout our history.

It all goes hand in hand doesn't it...Gravitate to the lowest common denominator...badge , image and manager.
