there really aren't many free managers atm

so we either take the best of a small bunch or pay out the nose to pry somebody away

as long as its not fat benitez i'm not too fussed

We paid 10m for Koeman which, imo, was 10m too much. Most clubs allow the managers to leave for 1 or 2 years salary. Almost nobody pays as much as us. We paid 30m for Iwobi, we should be more than willing to pay 10-15m for the RIGHT manager.
 
There hasn’t been any stories about us wanting to speak with Potter about the vacancy . I suspect if Potter was on a shortlist well then a approach would have been made and we certainly would have heard something. Nuno wants to bring in 6/7 with him which in turn will see Duncan either leaving the club for pastures new or take up a role with the 23’s . Benitez surely would be on par with Big Sam’s appointment and can’t see them going down that road . I don’t think Conte is what we need either at the minute . Knowing us the league will throw full weight of penalties against us with FFP etc and Conte would demand money money money . So that for me leaves Nuno / Gaultier and as much as I hate to say Southgate . Just have a inkling they might be waiting on a manager currently managing in the Euro’s and it won’t be Bobby for my money

One of the best, in Conte is still there.
Can't see it personally , but you never know as Moshiri / Usmanov are certainly game to try , and to spend.
I hate Rafael , but will still get behind him if he is appointed.
 
Relax lads there is no way the club will appoint Benitez, it would spark huge fan protests.

Even the board can’t be that stupid

I would be very very worried about Southgate. I like the guy, but club management is a world away from international stuff. He would be right at the bottom of my list, below Eddie Howe.
 

Hopefully no news is good news - if Nuno was nailed on it would surely be done/heavily briefed by now.
