It seems like Ancelotti leaving caught them on the hop. You’d hope if this had been known or in the pipeline for several weeks they would have had things wrapped up by now.

I’m hoping Brands moves on our transfer targets quickly but I would understand if players want to wait to see who the new manager is before signing.

Yeah I don't think any signings can realistically be completed until we have a manager, so we need to appoint someone within the next 7-10 days of thereabouts.

There is no excuse for not moving players on though. We all know which players are not good enough and don't contribute, and it will be a total nonsense if they are given another chance under another manager. They need to be moved on before the start of preseason so we can start fresh and that is the role of the DOF.

Nobody would be bothered about the RS connection if we were signing Klopp or Rodgers. Young (ish) upcoming or current top level managers who have achievements that relate to modern day football.

Its the fact that Benitez is past it, not been relevant for years AND a RS that's the issue.

Carlo was passed it but our fans absolutely loved the bloke - a good part of it is his RS connections imo.

You never know we all thought Moist was finished then he goes and finishes 6th with WHU - sometimes a manager just clicks at certain clubs and maybe being on Merseyside it would here with Benitez.

Any player playing in the euros or copa America won't be back until well into pre season anyway so its not that big an issue

Joyce, who is usually reliable, said we looked but have moved on.

I was referring to players coming in.
Brands should know who needs to be moved on..plus some due to their contracts are not goin to go regardless.

Yeah I don't think it's realistic to have players coming in to a club which has no manager. Having new signings by the end of July is what is required, but in terms of moving players on, it needs to start immediately. We are going absolutely nowhere as a club until we start actively moving on players who do not contribute.

This squad is the problem, not any manager we could appoint. We need to see the next manager get some help with recruitment and squad overhaul.

Nah, he wouldn't stand a chance. Similar to when he was at Chelsea, he actually did alright there but was doomed from the start as their fans didn't want him. It would never be a case of him winning the fans over either.
