Got to be Rafael. A proven winner, family still here, got a tune out of dross at Newcastle (and we’ve got better dross to work with) & as a bonus it would annoy our neighbours.

Proven winner.... who’s last success was 8 years ago.
Im not arsed about the garbage across the park, do you think they’re arsed about Rafael, when they’re doing better than us? No chance.

I want the best available, not a manager who is “succeeding” by doing just enough o stay afloat at Newcastle.

He is past it now Rafael and it’s a no from
Me.

Took the words out of my mouth

A think smart American franchises do is interview tons of people just to get ideas off of them. So I agree with this a lot. Talk to Gallardo even if he's not going to ever do it or the right fit. Honestly the same goes for someone like Conte.

What are we doing? Aren't we a project? So we would get a young project type manager like Eddie Howe, or are we trying to compete ASAP?

Gasperini should be the one.... He's got Atalanta playing in the CL and like galaticos on peanuts.... If Mosh had any sense, he'd do everything to get him.
James Horncastle mentioned a few years back that Gasperini feels as though he never got a fair shake at Inter, and that he wants another crack at a big job.

Whether or not this could be called a 'big' job, I don't know, but there's certainly a lot of money to be made here.

If they get Amorim, it’s a hell of a coup.

The issue with Portuguese managers though, is it’s so tricky to get them consistent outside of their league.

Mourinho, absolutely.

Then Vilas-Boas, Nuno, Silva, Carvahal, Fonseca, Pereira.

Buf I like the idea of Amorim, its just a question of would he come? Would it be too big a job?

I love Atalanta but Gasperini won't be bringing Atalanta's expansive recruiting set up with him and that could be an issue

For the moment the right man has the job.
Over taken by overnight (for me) events.
More about who I don't want.
Moyes
FSW
anybody with the faintest of rs connections ( not Sheedy obvs, but not him either)
Looks at list again - nah, none of them.

We need an off the wall, kick-arse, fitness fanatic, nutter...maybe a Bielsa Mk II, thats all I got

I’d take any of the following, first group are the more unrealistic candidates. Second group more realistic

Conte, Ten Hag, Gallardo(won’t leave til December)

Bielsa(haven’t seen him mentioned), Galtier, Ragnick, Ruben Amorim. Maybe Potter.

either someone young, hungry and promising or someone with a clear style for me

It’s not.

We’re talking BIG job, he’s safe at Atalanta, he won’t be sacked, and supposedly rejected some advances from Juventus Recenflg, hes not going anywhere:

People don’t like Howe but I still think he did a pretty good job at Bournemouth and had them playing nice stuff most of the time. If he comes just don’t let him pick any of the transfer targets ever.
