I just don't see the point in getting in knots over what are still news speculation. Even the BBC you mention seemed certain it was somebody else 5 days ago.

I never said he spent £150m in championship, I said that's what he spent at Newcastle. But £57m What other championship club has that sort of money to spend? So he should have cantered to winning the league.

He didn't lose a dozen players due to dropping into the championship, he lost a dozen players cause most didn't fit into his plans, and most of the dozen went to clubs to finish their careers. And most weren't starting players. Like I've already said, he lost Sissoko, wijnaldum and Townsend as well.

Fulham, Wolves off the top of my head. Stoke have actually spent nearly 200 mil in 5 years in the championship. Bristol City, Brentford, Middlesbrough, Leeds have all spent big.

Fun fact for you, Villa actually spent nearly 80 million in the same season that Rafas Newcastle spent 57 mil.

Well tbf Allardyce was the best option we could get at the time on a short term deal.

Of all the managers in the whole world it appears and it is being widely reported by everyone that Everton have turned to Rafael Benitez. It is clear the board are disconnected from the fanbase in even thinking this would be a good idea.

Rafael is an OAP looking for a final payday in China but now is thinking his final payday could be closer to home. He is finished, a football dinosaur in the mould of Ancelotti and Mourinho, defensive turgid football. I remember watching a Newcastle game and they set up with 6 defenders on the edge of their own 6 yard box. I find it ironic that some on here advocate Rafael but sneer at Mourinho.....

IF Rafael is appointed Farhad and his mob need launching out of the club. They are as bad as the ESL owners despite their virtue signalling letter for the good of football they are absolute hypocrits.

Would be convinced by Beni appointment Farhad is only involved to keep us just about relevant to maintain and improve his investment. No desire to win things just have us there abouts pulling in monies for himself just so he can jump on the next incarnation of super league.

Allardyce was not the best option. He got an 18 month deal and was another embarrassing appointment. These professionals aren't really a great barometer to be judged on .
Koeman and Walsh also turned out to be horrific appointments .
They haven't a clue how to build a successful club. Hence we are a mid table non entity

I have spent ages thinking about this. I can see some reasonable arguments as to why he might be a suitable appointment. I can also see some valid reservations about him on the footballing side.

Despite all that, the one thing I can't quite get past is that I absolutely detest him. Like proper loathing, the sort where just seeing his face just puts me into a bad mood for hours.

The thought of seeing him holding a blue scarf or whatever makes me nauseous.

I struggle to imagine a scenario where he is appointed and I take my seat at Goodison and am not filled with rage seeing him on our bench

I feel much the same, and the in-fighting before he has even been confirmed surely shows the downsides far outweigh his managerial credentials.
