What would the reaction to the appointment of Benitez be if he had never managed Liverpool?

Would it be the same as when we appointed Carlo ? , which was overwhelmingly positive.

Carlo was/is as much an over the hill manager as Benitez and for me that is the concern but I felt that Carlo had enough knowledge, experience and respect in the game that he would improve us substantially, I still believe that would have happened.
How can I make a different argument about Benitez ?

It all comes back to the Liverpool connection and in particular one two minute interview which he gave in a fit of anger and frustration.
I don't want him because it would be a very divisive appointment splitting the support base and initially at least creating a bad atmosphere at the club. There is also of course the risk that he is actually well past his sell by date, but then every appointment is a risk anyway as we certainly have found out 5o our cost.

I think Moshiri has made the decision that he wants managers with experience and pedigree to spend the money he is investing as far too much has already been wasted.

Of course, if Benitez is appointed and we are lucky enough that he dramatically improves the fortunes of our club it will be the ultimate sickened for the fans of our neighbouring club.

Everybody has an opinion about this and I respect that, I certainly am not trying to change the mind of anybody else just trying to clarify my own thoughts about where we are.
This is my thought process and some idiot trying to insult it will not change it.
But, anybody giving a reasoned disagreement is more than welcome.
Carlo came from playing in the Europa league and Serie A with Napoli , Benitez China . Ancelotti’s last trophy was two years before his Everton appointment, Benitez is seven I think . Apples and oranges for me

Carlo is still highly respected as one of the top managers in the world. Which is why he is at Real Madrid now.

Benitez came from the bottom of the Chinese league. And hasn't been hired by the likes of Madrid.

They players downed tools on Carlo there certain ain’t gonna give anything to a manager that no blue wants and will be sacked within months
The players didn't down tools they simply are not good enough. Maybe you would have more credibility if you had said Carlo downed tools

He has scored 3 goals and had 6 assists for Newcastle since he signed in 2017 predominantly as a winger
That is a bad signing .

I think for £10m he was worth a punt and hasn’t worked out as well as they hoped. But they’ll get shirt money back.

Iwobi at £35m is a bad signing. & we will lose money on him.

Do you genuinely believe, even when it does go to absolute pot, that everton fans will put him and his family at risk? We have some bad cranks supporting us but that's not going to happen

You never know. We've never had an ex kopite as manager.

They'll be getting that wound up by their kopite mates, their tiny minds could pop

I'm pretty sure the £18m over three years, or as a lump sum in 9 months time, will smooth over the grief. This isn't Glasgow, nobody is going to petrol bomb his car. Thinking about it, this is Everton, we'll probably pay him £10m a year when nobody else will give him a job.

What if he wasn't getting paid that?

Can't we give it to Martinez for 12 months, it appears to be his sweet spot. Us fans deserve to watch exciting footy for a season, then go hard in for Conte or Jose next season ?
