Also something that has been annoying me lately, the Athletic has slowly gained traction and now seems to be getting quoted as actual news rather than opinion pieces recently. Why and when did this happen?

I actually thought this myself today. There's already speculation that lockdowns will happen again even with the vaccine rollout. If that's the case, the rich and powerful (Moshiri/ Usmanov) tend to have friends in high places, they'd be informed of such things before us plebs so as to prepare their businesses accordingly. It could explain Moshiri not being bothered about fan anger if none of us will be in the stadium anyway. Let's hope that's not the case though for many reasons

O yeah ive thoght this too, 10k fans in Goodison, its easy for those who dont want to see him to stay away and us still sell out. No way are we getting big crowds next season, there might be one for Wembley but we wont be doing the same kind of checks there, and winter will be coming again once the season is really underway

I’m not advocating Martinez but you watch Belgium and it makes me think he has learnt lessons and isn’t so gung ho these days. If that was the case for sure then I’d gladly have him back.
