It's still crazy in that regard. There's a ton of managers who would be considered fairly safe and wouldn't have the fans on their back from day one.

Even unimaginative names like Santo or Potter, maybe even Howe, would be reasonably assured of safety given backing and arguably would build something a little more attractive. Can't understand the mentality of making rods for their own back with this.
All Moshiri's appointments have been safety first ones apart from Silva. And they all tend to be high profile.

He's an utter buffoon.

From past experience, what makes you think Everton have a fan base that are patient and willing to wait for results?
If we get an experienced manager and they have a few bad results the fans will instantly get on their back.
If we get a younger unproven manager and they have a few bad results the fans will instantly get on their back.
That's Premier League football these days, it's either success or the sack for managers.
Don't agree.
Not if the vision is properly communicated and understood.
Only a fool would the be impatient

Who should the club get mate who will be a guaranteed success?

I see a lot of people moaning about Moshiri etc at the moment but Conte aside there really isn't many good managers out there who would take this average squad of players into the promise land.

Well to answer your question mate, err, Conte. Also Potter and NES also have established a track record of taking an average group and maximising their potential with some astute signings. Then there's Rangnick and the Galtier chap at Lille who have also done the same.

They're out there, but the blinkers are on.

No I said he should have got next season but I wouldn't have been bothered if he was sacked as the writing was on the wall for next season if everyone was honest with themselves watching those performances.

I want Everton to succeed - if a manager comes in I'll back them until they have shown they aint good enough to take us forward which for me I'll pretty much form an opinion over a quicker period than most who are more patient than me - but im not going to actively want a new manager to fail from the start just because I dont like them whats the point in that when the club and us all suffer?

Nobody wants him to fail though. They just don't want him there full stop.

Some people will probably just jib it off for a bit. I may be one of them. Doesn't mean I don't care or don't support us.

Put it this way, I am a wrestling fan (obviously) have been pretty much all my life, but for the past couple of years WWE has been absolute dirt to watch, so I choose not to watch it as I have better things to do with my time. I still keep up with the news etc regarding it and may dip in and out if something appeals to me that particular week.

I will be invested in the first couple of weeks of New Everton just for the morbid curiosity of it all.

Yes. I see this being done tomorrow.

It'd be perfect timing ahead of the resumption of the KO rounds at the Euros: deed done; a few key interviews with friendly journos, then put away for a few days with talk of transfer targets and then Benitez at work with the close season returnees.

Swap Friday for Saturday and this is basically the schedule, as I see it.

Playing devils advocate here. What if Rafael gets us winning again , brings in players we so desperately need and gets rid of players who just aren’t Everton players ? Not saying I’m for his appointment at all but obviously as one of 3 clubs still waiting to fill a managerial vacancy it’s clear that the choice of manager out there is very limited . It’s clear that Moshiri didn’t want to go down the Silva route and try and entice a manager already employed so compensation would have to be paid etc . Does Moshiri want a manager who will guide us safely into BMD , mid table existence and then once we are in BMD look to sell the club ? It’s hard to know that’s for sure ….. one thing for certain is that once / if he is announced his first press conference will be very very interesting !!
