haha, yes I agree with that for sure!

My view is that they will go really low key on the announcement, and then do a run of media which focuses on supporting "the team" and the club.

Sure they will do this, the propaganda has already started hasn't it?

Even having to do all this should be enough to tell them it's the wrong thing to do, and a bad decision.

When they are ignoring the majority of the club's own fans and staff as well, it feels like a recipe for disaster.

I'd be ecstatic to be proven wrong.

So let me ask this question mate:

If the choice is Benitez who could say get 7th and us back into Europe or Scott Parker who has us 13th in the table who you would pick?

Because contrary to common belief I dont believe we have agents of world class managers like Conte and Poch knocking down our door wanting this job - only for the owners to say "nah m8 you're alright we dont want a top level manager who the fanbase will love and respect us for bringing in we want that fat ex kopite fella who the fans will hate us for bringing in" that makes no sense therefore its not likely to be the case.

Whether people like it or not Benitez is probably the best manager currently available therefore by saying you would want a lesser manager and as a consequence a greater chance of Everton doing badly because "at least he aint an ex Red" isn't being a supporter in my opinion its just petty tribalism.

And if we sack him a few games in good luck when someone like eddie Howe ends up his replacement oh well eee aint a RS doh.
“Benitez is probably the best manager currently available”.....what absolute rubbish. There’s lots more suited to the task than him, and if we’re being logical about this then it’s fair to say every manager is available...they all have their price and can all be swayed if the prize is big enough. In our case, a salary of £6M-£12M a year will not suprisingly get you someone very decent.

Yeah . . . But Beneathus is a great manager and we’re lucky to have him . . . He’s going to sort out the first team . . . Isn’t he??
A tough ask for any Manager - that's why Carlo jumped ship .....as so we let him have a easy get out clause in a 10 million wage contract ......you could guess he was losing interest an age a go, 10th ......FGS......

I'm not particularly keen. I can see it becoming an unwelcome circus which distracts from making progress on field.

Now, if I were a (not too bright) board highly unlikely to make great strides on moving on underperformed players / recruiting, I'd look to employ a ready scapegoat.

I'm really not looking forward to this season at all actually. Only hope I'm proven wrong.

Well Spurs were looking at Gattuso and now Nuno

Palace are appointing some bloke from the Championship.

I really dont think there are top drawer managers currently available mate who want to take on a midtable club.

Rafael is going to be the gaffa and basically we have to get on with it. The more of a circus act we make it the worse it gets in terms of pressure on the players.
