What kind of football do you think Duncan is going to play?
More direct definately but not long ball. And much more intensity off the ball. And I'm happy with that. Because I have put up with enough non intensity rubbish for 5 years. And yes it is possible to play with high intensity for mite than a couple matches. Kloppy, Diego, pep, ralf red bull, leeds and many more.

We have been nullified for 5 or more seasons of possession and stand off non intense football. Goodison is bored to tears. No more I say. Ralf or Dunc. I'm happy to give a chance.

@nsno-chris posted a good video about him a few pages back. He’s adapted his style to every club he’s been at
That would be encouraging, at least. Watching Koeman, Silva and even Carlo towards the end blindly make changes in the hope something would stick was painful. The first two were so wedded to their chosen systems that Plan B just didn’t exist. To be fair to Carlo, we’d reached peak Everton by that time and nothing he could have done could have shaken our determination to capitulate.

I’d love us to have someone who was adaptable depending on players available, but also had the courage of their convictions enough not to abandon their chosen system(s) after a couple of bad results.

Thankfully I don't think you'll be given a chance to see that assessment of Dunc being incorrect. It would be drab and unwatchable as the games were after the Chelsea win.

yeah agree with that.

What is annoying is these players will get another clean slate with another manager, when they have proven several times to not be up to standard.
They've proven they can sleepwalk around the pitch and still get a game. Maybe a coach who is a bit more "hands on" might get something out of them.

Worth saying regarding Nuno (I'm not particularly excited by him) but in his defence, at the point Jiminez got injured (29th Nov) they were 9th in the league, and Nuno had won MOTM in October. They were only 2 points behind Everton (after our incredible start) and 6 points off top spot.

That injury was an absolutely massive factor.

No Nuno, no no no. He got out of Wolves cos of homesickness for Portugal and stuffed the squad with a mixture of Portuguese from good to poor. No no no to Nuno. Stay in Portugal where your level is.

I'd wonder how Brands would feel if Nuno kept going to Mendes? It's no coincidence that all Nuno's jobs so far have been at Mendes clubs, so be interesting to see how that dynamic works for you.

There's a few reasons why it went on. It may be a glass ceiling, and it's worth noting that Nuno said we needed to adapt to compete. But, it also may be injuries, and Nuno had such a good relationship with the fans and he hated (didn't we all) behind closed doors football. It really impacted him. So, some Wolves fans hoped it was as simple as bringing Jimenez back and a full crowd would've made everything better, and it genuinely might've. Also, we had played non-stop and had virtually no pre-season, it was something ridiculous as three days, so that didn't help too.

But things had gone flat, and it probably was just a case of freshening things up.

Yeah I get your point with the type of manager you want and agree that the next step is the hardest. Interesting times ahead for both clubs this summer!

That's the million dollar question really and you certainly hope it's whats asked at interview today. I mean, Moshiri has a decent relationship with Mendes (you cite James Rodriguez, but also Silva was associated with Mendes, so while the Wolves ties are obviously much stronger we are on friendly terms. What you would hope Brands does is inform the manager we are not just buying from 1 agent, but Brands is quite passive really. Moshiri will often jump in and try to sign Zaha and actually sign Iwobi, and you feel a lot of other DOF's would not tolerate this.

What you said about Godfrey and Doucoure gave me a bit of hope actually. I agree with you too, I think both would have suited your team to a tea. They were the Brands signings last summer, whereas Ancelotti pushed Allan and James. If he would work well with guys like Godfrey and Doucoure, that probably bodes quite well, as we always felt Ancelotti wanted older, more experienced players in recruitment.

But my concern is exactly as you say, to what degree was Nuno benefiting from Wolves or Wolves benefiting from Nuno (and probably something that can only be answered in time).

I think you will do better this season. I'll be honest, I think the fans thing is a bit of a red herring, as every set of fans thinks this, and everybody can't do better, but getting Jimenez back will help and ideally Neto too. You've given a lot of younger players exposure which will help and we know like ourselves you will not be shy to spend a few quid. We are both in a similar bracket though, of how do we crack that next level, and I'm not wholly convinced Nuno is the right man to do it. But maybe he and Wolves just need a change? I'm more than happy to see Wolves in that top 6 as long as we are too haha! I'd rather you than one of the scab 6, thats for sure!

Just read Sergio Conceicao was sent off 4 times for Porto in games involving no fans;

Feisty Porto boss Sergio Conceicao has continued to burgeon his hot-headed reputation after being sent off for a shocking FOURTH time this season.

Conceicao has previous for losing his temper, with Chelsea and Manchester City both complaining about the Porto coach - and the club in general - earlier this season.

how would you even know, we only have like 4 games to go off against some of the toughest opposition in the league.
anyone that says they know what style of play he would bring is talking rubbish ( i'm not advocating him for the job btw).
