Facts are not that the board want Benitez, it's widely accepted that this decision has been made by Moshiri backed up by Usmanov having allegedly spoken at length with Abramovich about his time at Chelsea.

But they run the club mate its ultimately their club - what do people want to go back to the days of Kenwright, sell to buy, hiring relegated managers with failed ground move after ground move?

None of us complained when we were throwing money around and laughing about Kopites heada falling off over BMD - as the saying goes if you invite the devil into your back yard he may just like it and decide to stay...

Richard Key's finishing his attack off with "trust me".

Erm, no, you hairy handed cave dweller.

Remember the hedy days of Gray almost getting the job here and we were signing Ravinelli, seems like yesterday.

Keys really hates Benitez though doesn’t he, has to be a story there. They probably went head to head over the last dumpling in Jimmy Chungs alll you can eat for a fiver back in the 00’s.

Under Moshiri we sold Stones, Barkley Lukaku and Deulofeu to name just four, so he's not exempt from 'sell to buy' criticism !!

"Chelsea is a big club with fantastic players, every manager wants to coach a such a big team," Benitez said in 2007. "But I would never take that job, in respect for my former team at Liverpool, no matter what. For me there is only one club in England, and that's Liverpool."1 Dec 2017
