I'm sticking with the "Burst Spanish Knacker".

He'll always be Max to me.

You dont know why a coach would want an enormous salary with the prestige of managing a side in the premier league?

Thats a bit weird.

Indeed.

If that was the case we surely wouldn’t be appointing Rafael Benitez as our manager would we? Experience wise, which is what I believe the club are looking towards, we could do a lot better couldn’t we? Why would the club who have just lost one of the biggest names in European football set out to replace him with a manager who’s reputation has been on a big decline since the late 2010s solely?

I just find it hard to believe we have dismissed other better experienced options just to bring him here.

I do believe there is an element of managers being put off with our reputation of dismissals so early on and fan unrest. That doesn’t mean all will be put off but I’d say it also plays some significance

As I say it will be interesting to see who Tottenham get, they haven’t had any joy replacing Mourinho with an experienced head.

Im just trying to figure out and make sense in the boards decision making in all of this. I’m at the point in my time supporting this club of genuinely not being fussed anymore, it’s not worth the agro.

I think I’ve already made my feelings clear. I don’t want him anywhere near the club, this is based on the fact that he is a very defensive minded coach who has made a career out of producing hard to break down hard to watch teams. His Liverpool fc connections and his previous attempts to belittle our club and our fans and finally the fact that he will be coming here on a very large wage on a 3 year contract, which will be extremely difficult for him to fulfill, as soon as he has a bad run, even the fans who are not against him from day 1 will turn on him. It will soon become impossible for the board to allow him to continue.

The board lose, as they will have to pay up the remainder of his contract, the fans lose, as they see their team become even more ridiculous, in fact the only winner is Benitez. He laughs all the way to the bank win or lose.
Lies, the only reason any of us don't want him is because he called us a small club once. I've been reliably informed that this the only reason.

Before the appointment is made everyone should state their clear and concise opinion about Benitez so we can all be vaulted and held accountable in the future. I'll start. I don't want him, and I don't think he will do any better than mid table (probably 9th)while playing awful football. Lock it in.
I think he will get us into europa conference, only because we are such a weird club that an ex-kopite we all hate will prob do a decent job. It will be the ultimate "Everton That"

Honestly, I think Usmanov spoke with his mate Roman and decided that Benitez was his man. And that was that. I can't think of any other scenario that makes any sense. I'm 90% certain we're just Usmanov's toy to do with as he pleases.

Benitez to take us into Europe, bold prediction. I honestly hope you're right. While I don't want him, I also hope Everton does well during his stay. Can't get behind wanting the club to fail so he is sacked quicker.

Dead easy. Don't want him, I'll be shocked to the core if he lasts 12 months. Ill be even more shocked if we do anything decent with him.

I was worried about the season coming anyway, with him being our manager I am absolutely dreading it - not just because of who he is, I think its going to be turd football and I will be surprised if we got top 10 with Benitez in charge.

Normal circumstances I would be happy to be proved wrong by a manager, this time I doubt that till happen.

1. Has been
2. No recent success
3. Terrible turgid football.
4. Falls out with everyone
5. Blames everyone else
6. Doesn't play young players
7. No record of building a team
8. Association with the RS
9. Belittled and humiliated us.
10. Calorifically challenged.

Will that do for starters?

Palace would be digging amongst the dregs regardless so not sure why you are bringing their name up here.

Palace are owned by billionaires if they wanted to offer some bloke from Sporting Lisbon or S.America a contract he would be there.

The worst thing about the pandemic is people have become spoonfed nonsense online and take everything as gospel. Moshiri apparently signed Iwobi is a belter I heard a few days back.

The club are partly to blame for that as they dont communicate enough with the fans but I cant take any fan seriously who believes Everton are turning down offers from top class managers just to purposely wind up the fans, or better yet "I would rather be under Blue Bill at least the club still had its soul NSNO".
