….the club pay people lots of money to know the global market & find the right manager, folk on here have opinions.

The appointment of Ancelotti & the links with Benitez suggest (to me) that the club want safe rather than progressive. Stability.

I just don’t think the club should entertain Benitez because of his record of publicly belittling us. I actually think he’s a decent manager but we should retain some self-respect and not employ him.

I agree mate but you can understand the reasoning behind that with a £500+ million stadium getting built.

The last thing the club will want us giving the job to some 35 year old novice from Bolivia who plays 2-5-3 or someone like Potter who only just finished 16th and has never had any track record in a top league.

No appointment is without risk but the club will want to minimise risk as much as possible until the stadium is built imo and the fans have to accept that as they know the financial situation more than what we do.
