I don't blame Benitez for any of this. Makes perfect sense for him (though he does run the risk of having both sides hating him in his adopted home (10 miles away).

The fella has got some balls, unlike the board. The announcement video should have him come out wearing the Mr Testicles costume.

Also he probably feeds on everything.

I agree the ire just should be directed at the ownership. I wonder what his home life is like if he's so open to subjecting himself to abuse

Depends who was available mate for me as I maintain I dont think their was anyone else better than him available.

People dont become billionaires by not doing business with someone who called them a nasty name 15 years ago! If Benitez is the man they think can get the best tune out of this squad then I'll judge him ultimately on the results as we all should do.

He certainly ticks some boxes:

Plays compact like Ancelotti so wont need massive amounts of money like someone like Potter would to completely rip things up

Is a hard worker by all accounts (Toffee TV said he used to get the 7am train every day to Newcastle whilst managing them and stayed til late in the evening.

Is tough and wont take crap from some of our shirkers in the squad

Has balls of steel and wont wilt under fan pressure like Silva/Martinez did.
