to get a relegated team to midtable without spending any money is hugely impressive. Look how much villa spent to do the same thing
We get it, you think he's great and everything pointing against it is "fake news". I assume China was a great success as well? I don't think he'll be a success, we'll find out soon enough. No doubt if he fails it'll be the fans fault in your eyes.

The greatest thing about this is that we know that the club is so absolutely tone deaf they are going to do a big reveal video with all the zeal they did for Carlo. Absolute weapons, the lot of them.

If you cheer men kicking a ball, and join online forums to discuss the men kicking that ball, then you're probably not in the best position to be saying that to be honest. The whole thing is daft if you look at it that way, but that's what being a football fan is.
You've got to choose your battles. If someone has a different life philosophy to me, that's fine. I'm not going to try to change it in a few paragraphs.

I already admitted to that. If it was DF I'd be floored by that. However, as I also said, I'd expect others to tell me that the manager isn't the club and to get behind the team. Which I would have...just as I did with Koeman until he proved how right I was about him.
I give it 3 weeks of the season before you are calling for his head.

The problem is Dave, all the time we keep Kenwright, DBB on the board, Unsworth in his position etc we keep the Everton family feel.

I personally don't have a problem with them going F You- we are going to appoint the guy to win trophies- to the fans, but it's never done in any sort of meaningful and consistent way.

In that context I can understand why fans sort of give up on trying to win things but at least want to remain true to Evertonism whatever that is.

Unless Kenwright et al follow out of the door, it's a pointless decision and destined to fail.

And if it doesn't happen, Benitez either has to make peace with "the establishment" or he will fail as well. It's not hard to work out what he will do.

The route cause though, is Moshiri.
I agree with most of that. To me the real enemy isn't a winner like Benitez. It's the losers at the club who make all the decisions. Retain them and it's the status quo.

So a sponsor has appointed the manager and anyone who isn't offering their support to that is wrong?

He's a "sponser" but in reality its more likely he's the real owner. Russian media referred to him as having bought the club before Moshiri was announced as our owner.

It just benefits us FFP wise for him to have his puppet Moshiri as the official owner whilst he pumps money in via sponsors. I have no doubt if FFP was ended tomorrow Usmanov would officially come on board.

Think he's listening to what Kenwright et al are saying to him?

I'm personally not arsed about an apology for him, as @Tubey said earlier, his comments about small club were exactly right. We set up under Moyes not to lose as we did against every side above us.

If he apologizes, he won't mean it, it will be insincere and it will just serve to head pat. The best way he can endear himself to the crowd is through being successful and progressing the club from it's current standing.

But he's going to play exactly the same way when we go to Anfield

This is what is blowing my mind

If he truly thinks we play like a small club, and you agree, then when he goes to Anfield and the Etihad and sets us up that way, what is it even saying about him? He's just continuing the cycle

If he apologises then it's essentially him saying "That's a legitimate way to play when away at a top team and doesn't make us small" because it IS and he only said what he said because he had a bee up his bum over not being able to beat us

I just don't get why he can't just clear the air and let us all move on from it

Have to agree with this... I was ‘done’ when we appointed Allardyce but couldn’t resist checking on scores, highlights and reading reviews after games and wanting to know what was happening.

Everton is just one big massive life sucking tease that you just simply can’t let go off, no matter how hard you try. Once you’re in, you’re in for life no matter what.
Its worse then being a smack head, i used to have a bad gambling addiction, but i beat it, but the addiction to Everton is impossible to shift!!

If he made that effort he wouldn't be Benitez.

He IS Benitez and so we cant demand he reforms his whole personality. That's why you dislike him, so it's not plausible to expect he changes his spots at this stage.

He's abrasive and moody and not a great feller. But we know that.
Very true, and as much as I hate to admit it, he may be just what some of our useless bunch needs. A shock to the system.

Big Tony Bellew says we should get behind Benitez if he's appointed. I'm not going to argue with him! If we play better football than we have since the days of the marauding Baines, Pienaar & Co then I'll except him as our manager. Seeing Fat Sam in the dug-out was a bigger crime for me.
Tory bellew is just another club mouthpiece, he’d say anything they tel him to if he could get a few free shirts of them the rat
