Why does nobody ever think outside the box and hire coaches from women's football?

Barcelona Women have had an incredible year and they've got a young male coach called Lluis Cortes, only 34 and has helped Barcelona win their first Champions League.

It's his first proper job, he could be the next Guardiola.
It's a completely different game.

Brighton had the worst record in PL for points lost from a winning position (20) last season but I suppose it is a positive that they actually got in a winning position  But it is a bit concerning
I'd don't think that's a stat that holds year to year usually

We'll have an indication on Sarri tomorrow. Apparently, that's when his offer from Lazio runs out.

I suspect somebody of that ilk will be our next manager. I don't think Moshiri will wave the white flag and swallow a downgrade after the coup of landing Carlo. He'll want a top rank replacement while accepting that pretty much any replacement will be something of a step back. He's expressed admiration for Simeone in the past, and we know he has interviewed Emery before. Simeone is almost certainly unattainable, but I can't see the Mosh settling for mediocrity. The danger is he goes for an empty name - like he did with Koeman. By this I mean somebody who is high profile, probably due to a stellar playing career, but who has no managerial credentials to justify the job: somebody like Steven Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, or Big Dunc. I can't see it.

He's had his fingers burned by anointing an up and comer before with Silva. He's more likely to "understand" the hard business antics of Ancelotti and other premium figures and accept the reality that they will always have their options.

A good European Championship for England might put Gareth Southgate into the mix. The longer this all drags on, the more likely it is that somebody managing at the Euros could become an option. Joachim Löw would have enough credibility and glamour to appeal - and he'd probably be willing to come. But he'll need a good showing in July to enter the race.

However, until we know what is happening with Sarri, Emery, and Pochettino, I'm not sure there's much happening. A quick appointment of a Nuno or somebody underwhelming like that will simply show our horizons have receded and Mosh has thrown his hat at it.

We’d need a whole new squad IMO.

Other key elements of Sarri's line-up are the presence of a deep-lying playmaker who dictates play in front of the back-line, such as Jorginho, and overlapping attacking full backs, in order to provide width to his team, as his players often attack from the flank, looking to play quick exchanges and make runs in behind into the box rather than deliver crosses into the area, however. As such, he favours dynamic wingers in his team, as well as defenders and goalkeepers who are comfortable on the ball, in order to help his team retain possession, and hard-working players who can implement his high pressing game

Potter is a beergoggles appointment

Sure the xg looks nice and he should be given a chance with better players but the next day you waking up to a pasty milkman
And we would leak quality players and recruit no-one who is excellent. Nice guy. Wrong time. Not the statement to be making now.

I can see Loew doing a technical job with UEFA or the German FA or equivalent. I don't see him coming here.

I like Emery but would be wary after his Arsenal experience. He'll ride out a season with Villarreal in the UCL I think and enjoy without pressure.

Sarri would be a no. He'd sink in negativity here the job would be too much for him.

Timing is Moshiri's biggest enemy here. Better to take time to get the right candidate but anything longer than 3 weeks max will stretch patience to the limit and he gives in to pressure. If it's someone at the Euros he wanted it's just a huge complication at the worst time.
