My issue with appointing Nuno is simply this, would Spurs, Chelsea, Manure, RS, City, Arsenal etc appoint him as their Manager? The answer is a resounding no and if our aim is to be competing with the top teams then we shouldn't be appointing him either. We got Ancelotti no matter how over the hill he is and we should be patient and get another high quality Manager that any top team would appoint.

Appointing someone like Nuno no matter how well or bad he might do is accepting we are a mid table team and can get no better. We can get better and should get better.
I think unfortunately all managers we are likely to appoint will be a step down from Carlo in terms of their standing in the game. It will no doubt impact players wanting to move on and means we’re back to square one in terms of the so-called project.

If we can't get a proven successful 'foreign' manager, then I would be happy to support the appointment of Mr Ferguson.

He has demonstrated his passion and the drive for our club. Carlo Ancelotti didn't hesitate to abandon us: me thinks that Duncan, sorry Mr Ferguson, would never do that. Indeed he could get a further tattoo: Premier League Champions 2022/3.
Champions? More like Championship

It was four games in quick succession against tough opposition, no time whatsoever to put any of his ideas of how to play football across to the team.

He went back to basics, got them to work hard and got some good results.

He basically turned into a 6ft 3inch skinny Fat Sam for 4 games but with 5x more passion.

I.E What was absolutely necessary at the time.

Nobody here knows what ideas Ferguson would actually want to implement over a long period.

The fact he gets criticism for how he went about it amazes me. It's a snobbish attitude that I don't get.

Arsenal and Chelsea employed managers who had never managed before. The RS employed Roy Hodgson, United appointed Moyes and Spurs employed Pochettino who had done a similar job at Southampton in that time.

Would they employ him right at this moment? Probably not, would they have employed him the season before last when he was getting the plaudits, yeah possibly.

Time can change peoples opinions very quickly.

We’ve got to get into the top echelons first( though we’re not far behind Arsenal). The super managers will only manage top clubs. Yes, we got Ancelotti, however he proved to be anything but ‘super’.

I think CA’s son apparently bought a new house in the area so that was why he was moving out. It seems well known Carlo wasn’t happy though, for whatever reason.
As I said I’ve no idea if what I said is true but id be amazed if CA‘s son didn’t know his dad had designs on leaving Everton and had bought a new house, also don’t these people usually rent their homes, not knowing how long they’re staying.

Not convinced on Brands personally, but I've credited him a lot for Ancelotti.

Although Ancelotti met with Usmanov/Moshiri - we have to assume that Brands was central too. January 2019;

I was in the "Now, Brands can get on with his job/have full control" back in January 2019. Nothing has changed since then, to warrant the new growing consensus of 'Now it's Brands in control...'

I still don’t buy that since he joined any of the appointments made have been Brands choosing though. What CA Wanted in terms of players doesn’t match Brands history. Not pro or against Brands, he’s responsible for a lot around the club and as you’ve pointed out. Those academy strategies need to start paying off soon.

I’ve been told that CA‘s son moved out of his house the day after the City game, and Ancelotti’s GF was posting her goodbye’s to people on Instagram a couple of weeks be CA left Everton, if this is all true then I think Everton knew full well this was going to happen.
Speculation though. Davide Ancelotti only moved in his new house last week according to the echo.

Most sources say he was moving IN to a new house in Woolton a week before Real came knocking.

So...more BS there matey

I think the Athletic reported that Davide had bought a new house, hence the shock at the sudden move. It seemed things moved very suddenly once Carlo got the call. Maybe they knew he wasn’t happy but expected Madrid wouldn’t be interested.

Well said
I'm not saying he's the answer but to constantly beat him for coming into an extremely difficult situation and getting the bunch of heartless cowards up for a few games.
Maybe he assessed the situation and the players at his disposal knew what was needed and executed it.
I believe it was a bit of knowledge a lot of passion and a bit of luck.

I don't think Brands/Everton have a clue yet, never mind the press/bookies,.

This is a setup that belatedly sacked Marco Silva, without any clue who would replace him. Ancelotti was still in a job when they sacked him.
It’s unlikely Nuno or Rafael or Duncan is their no.1 choice, otherwise what’s stopping them? They’ll be sounding out candidates through agents until they know for certain they agree to everything before alerting anyone. Otherwise you look like a mug and get rejected or if they’re already employed you want everything in principle before making an approach and you want to know what exit clauses they might have.
